Well, since the other thread worked so well, how about I ask about this one as well?

Starting from FAI, what transitions do I need to take to reach the Avernus Store?

Yes I could explore on my own, level up some epic character and go on a grand quest once I do not have to worry about experience penalty on death... But when is that going to be? A month from now? Half-a-year? More? I usually plan my builds with +3 equipment in mind and for reason... Not to mention that for some reason people do send me tells in game asking how and where to find it, so I've felt a bit quilty not knowing where it is...

So if you can help, it would be appreciated.

Bottom of Dragonspear Castle, wherever that is. Jump the portal to Avernus. Prepare to get your butt roasted in the fire. I've never been further than that

UD chars have to defeat the Pit Fiend first below the Duergar fort and from that point the same fiery madness applies.

I think there is some kind of Maze down there... ANy solution beyond having a character that can open locks with DC of 80?

No it's not a maze.
Just bring a friend (or party) or use a dimension door wand/spell to open some doors.

Yes it is in the bowels of dragonspear (which you will find near Soubar). If you do not have ki step or dimension door you need to be two or more in the party to open the outer gate and certain locked grids in the keep.
It is a fun little maze. Not very complicated, but be prepared to get confused the first times.

Just made a quick run and came upon a room with dozens of levers in the basement, with a locked door with portal. I assume that is the portal to Avernus, and you need to pull levers in certain sequence in order to open the doors?

Alternatively for the UD crew, just cast Etherealness and walk by the pitfiend to the portal.

Portal in the Underdark doesn't work now. Is this a bug?

Avernus Store items can now be found in Sshamath and in the Wide and Beregost.

It's not a bug, with the story related to dragonspear events this portal doesn't work anymore, Avernus is not accessible.

Hm, just recently I have seen a toon with anime name there (in PC Scry), so I thought it is still accessible *sighs*
