Street Sweeper NPC

Unread post by J3456789 »

When I played NWN1 on the Nordock server, they had a tiny pixie that would wander around the hunting woods and dispose of animal hides and other junk people would leave on the ground.

How about a 'Street Sweeper' NPC in towns that walk around deleting stuff left on the ground.

It seems like the cities would hire someone to clean up all the trash dropped everywhere.

Or to just kill it to get all the phat loot it has. O_O The times I've just picked up random mithral armors off the ground...

So... Mithral Armors.... I'm confused about these.

I see +3 etc armors but everyone says mithral is the best.

However, I have yet to see any mithral armors with +1, 2 or 3 enhancement bonuses to AC.

Am I missing something here?

Yes, bracers of armors. Use bracers of armor + mithral armor = +3/+4 mithral armor ! Not to mention the spells that do the same thing like improved mage armor or magic vestment.

Candlekeep sells Bracers of Blinding Speed, +4 enchantment bonus to armor AC and 2 casts of Haste. In the basement of Blushing Mermaid in Baldur's Gate there is another merchant that sells Bracers with +4 enchantment bonus to armor AC and something like +5 or +10 Hitpoints, this is the cheaper choice. You could also use spells like Mage Armor for +4, Magic Vestment for +5, or Improved Mage Armor for +6 enchantment bonus to armor AC.

Thus, when you look at the armors made from mithral as opposed to ones made from iron, the ones made from mithral offer +2 dexterity based AC. Thus a mithral fullplate gives 8 (base) + 3 (dexterity) while a iron fullplate gives 8 (base) + 1 (dexterity).

And for a low dexterity based character, currently the best armor you can get is actually Mithral Chainmail, 6 (base) + 4 (dexterity). You just need something like from 14 to 16 dexterity to make the most out of it. Oh and, if you are playing an elf, half-elf, or someone with enough UMD you could make use of the 'Melodic Chainmail' that is sold by the Doron Amar blacksmith. Mithral Chain Mail, +3 enchantment to armor AC, Dash feat, +3 Charisma, +3 Perform, and +2 Tumble, the price tag of it can be in the 300k+ region though. It will be lower with Appraise skill investment.

So then there aren't mithral armors that also have +1-4 enhancement bonuses to AC?

There are, RIG has generated some for me. I've seen some sold in the auction forums back when I bothered to look there. Even seen few in the in game consignment store.

And as I said, you can buy a +3 Mithral Chain Mail from the elves.

The Avernus store has a +4 Mithral Breastplate called Bear Armor. (Orsomethingtothateffect)

It'd be funny to see the street sweeper being able to sell the stuff they pick up.
