Common Sense

This is a more of a common sense post, but seeing that I have to report this exact issue to the DM team I thought I would post it here so future players which may not have been taught basic manners can have a run down on how to behave OOCly.

In character actions are in character. If two characters disagree in character that is fine. If your character is a hot head and wants to draw a blade because someone stops talking to them that is anyone's choice.

What is bad manners is after a character walks away from yours is sending them repeated PMs. Then threatening to contact staff to report you for being rude because you will not speak to them OOCly after asking them to cease PMing you two times.

Then five minutes later continuing to PM you saying you are out to get them OOCly, while ignoring that you continue mention take it to staff and stop PMing you.

Then continuing to PM you saying no the constant PMs is not harassment but call you names because you will not talk to them.

Yes all of this is screen shoted and things to Windows 10 DVR function also recorded.

tl;dr

If someone requests you stop speaking to them OOCly, maybe you shouldn't PM them for the next 5-10 minutes.

Say it once, then ignore and keep taking screenshots if they still persist. I always tell people that just because someone messages you privately doesn't mean you -need- to message them back.

According to my experience, I think surface players are the reason this server is PG 13. I don't blame everyone of course, but there are too many paranoics who spam you OOC threats in pm, too many immature people who take IC conflicts as personal insults, too many powerbuilders looking for any reasons to attack you if they don't like something. As one good player said, don't be mad at fools — you won't have fun while they would.

Lack of common sense? Yeah, I know what you are talking about. Like few days ago there was this one guy that was just completely obnoxious out of character, thus I just left the area, and the guy kept sending tells one after another screaming and screeching about how I had somehow insulted him until he finally realised about 30 minutes later that I was already long gone.

Anyhow, these people come and they go.

Of course Shaw did not know any pigs personally. These animals are very clean and only use mud for spa reasons.

Go figure an irish writer should know anything about farming or animals :).

Welcome to the wonderful world of PVP on this server. Where the loser freaks out and constantly spams you with PM's and curse words or threatens to report you, whether you broke rules or not.

I just don't PVP anymore unless the other party initiates it first.

After what I have seen from your PCs you better not to discuss the pvp at all.

Sounds like you've run into a nutcase.

Enlarge chat window, take screenshot and send it to dms to sort out. There's a good chance that they'll make the offender disappear.

If you're running a client extender, then your "Logs" directory within "Neverwinter Nights 2" folder contains the chat along with their player name.

Cows go "moo".

Crows go "caw".

PvP players go "unfair".

------

On a side note, if someone requests you not speak to them and you continue to speak to them, that would fall under griefing/harassment.

Also, you can turn off PMs in the right-click menu. Though, this doesn't stop the flow of general chat OOC text that tends to fly, since a lot of the complainers naturally don't have much regard for IC or immersion.

So far i have never encountered such. All the people i tend to get into pvp with are either friends ooc or at least indifferent to me.

A few times, low level characters have attacked me for various reasons- being shady, being rude, once I was attacked in the wilderness because some nutcase decided wearing a mask was inherently evil. They all complained when I IGMS'd them.
Of course maybe I shouldn't talk here. I know my character's rudeness has gotten him offhandedly destroyed by epics without a chance to even set hostile. Maybe I'm unfairly judging here?

Folks, if you have a negative in game experience the appropriate action is to screenshot it and PM it to the DM team. This thread has been reported for a violation of rule number 2 and I am I am inclined to agree. Please feel free to take these grievances up with the DM's.

*Wyatt pulls out his hammer and nails a pair of boards in an "X" over the door.*
