A Slight "Pet" Peeve

So i know we have a lot of new people and i know not everyone reads rules and such but is there nothing we can do about the large number of people who keep running in to FAI or Beregost with summons/animal companions and ignoring the guards.

maybe a script that detects it and say jails the offender until they learn to listen to basic rules.... I have mentioned to so many people in the last couple of weeks that i no longer have the patience to do so and im going to just start sending in screenshots which i really dont want to do because DM's are busy enough already....

It just really bugs me when people wander IN to civilized areas with animal companions like "oh hey this bear is cool dont worry!" part of me wants to just set hostile and kill the animal but that just opens a whole new can of worms.

Desummoning within the compound is likely to be latched to a script.

Long time ago I just casted extended 'Inferno' on the animal companion and it took care of the problem most of the time... One way or another...

Although it didn't help immersion to have a burning animal chase someone all around the Baldur's Gate.

Edit: 'It's tail must've have cought fire somehow... Best not bring such creatures in the city.' *Nods to the ranger/druid all innocently.*

There seems to also be a large uptick in PCs running around the courtyard of the FAI with weapons out and casting spells, many offensive or attack spells, and full faced masks...again...as if the guards don't exist there, nor would have a care about it!!!

Yes this is something else i have noticed as well.. i get it, sometimes people forget that's cool, But not when its the same people being told over and over.

Cant you give the FAI guards the same Weapon scripts as the ones on the bridge and city? so they arrest people for it?

One prob... do that and when an event takes place where the inn gets attacked the guards will be trying to arrest everyone instead of helping to defend the inn.

I had this happen to me during the Black Orc Wars. Bravely fighting off black orc raiders, when a guard comes up and arrests me.

DMs later on RP'd the guard as being on enemy payroll, and he ended up strung.

Ameris got arrested during the final showdown with the Blight...

Those do not occur as often as every couple hours someone walks in with a damn weapon drawn or starts casting spells...

I always unsummon my summons when going near the Inn or into towns. But i think some people don't know how to dismiss them, especially the new players.

You need to be careful when outright killing them if it is a new player as you'll only succeed in driving them off the server.

There is a script that tosses gray orcs out of the FAI. We need the same for summoners (especially Sword Archon summoners haha)

Bump!

Seems new players don't know that to dismiss a summon you have to right-click yourself and access the dismiss spells option.

Furthermore, can we please get rid of the silly IC rule at FAI where wizards have to tie a string to their thumbs? lol

I was wondering. If someone choose the dog animal companion would Fido be allowed into town, or is he kicked outside with the wolves, bears, fairy dragons, and undead badgers that look like normal badgers?
