Sneaky Archer

So my last build attempt is terrible to level since it doesn't mature until epic levels (Combat Insight, HiPS) so I'm trying to come up with something fun that is playable at all levels to RCR into. This is my first attempt.

It's very similar to a build previously posted (http://nwn2db.com/build/?156903), but swaps fighter with rogue so that it can get HiPS earlier. Also, why is this called 'cheese' sneak characters are basically impossible to level without hips as far as I can tell?

Here is my attempt:

I wish I could get Epic Precision, but that requires 10 rogue levels and crippling strike which doesn't even work with a bow.

Strategy is to hips and hope the enemy rolls a 1 on one of the initial flurries to become paralyzed. I'm assuming all bosses are immune to stuns, and have insane saves anyway.

As a side note, how is order of the bow initiate? I don't like being forced into elf, so was thinking of trying that instead, but everything I read on here says it's very buggy.

The cheese is that assassin death attack applies without epic precision against crit immune from a bow.

I'm rubbish with archers, so I'll leave actual build advice to those a bit more experienced playing them.

Edit: One thing... assassin 10 is in every way Better then rogue 6..ok, not every way, rogue gets more skill points, but assassin 10 gets another level 4 slots and +1 death attack DC.

I didn't know that. Well then at least it can hold it's own against undead. I personally think every rogue should get epic precision at level 1. It's not like sneaks are overpowered in any way. What other class has to deal with such a large amount of uselessnes? I doubt there are that many magic or power attack immune enemies on the server.

For some reason I was thinking assassin 10 didn't get BAB progression, but it does. I've switched this.

Sorry i misspoke, epic precision makes death attack do full damage instead of half... the death attack cheese is that it doubles on many shot.

I did have a lot of fun with this build until I realised how bugged OOBI was (and still is). Still does okay, but. Epic Precision & Epic Dodge. I soloed the build to level 21 before I had my first PvE death.

I also made an interesting air genasai version.

The archer build you linked (which is from my list! :D) works fine even without hips. It certainly gets more defense when it gets hips, but even before that, you use stealth to start combat. And with the kind of damage this thing does, that means things die fast.

The "cheese" is also because of the enormous AB it gets.

But it is admittedly a somewhat late bloomer. I also don't like it particularly well simply because it is a high dex (and high reflex) build with no evasion. Which is just silly.

The ranger13/fighter4/assassin8/arcanearcher5 is preferable, in my opinion. And it gets hips much earlier. Camouflage and a bit of ranger spells doesn't hurt either.

Ranger21/assassin9 is also absolutely excellent, whether for crossbow sniper or proper archer. Crossbows are for peasants, though!

Awesome concept.

This one is the cheese. However, it would be even better as Air Genesai.

Id drop some DEX and OneShot for more STR to make use of a +6 or +8 mighty bow.
Steady 50+ damage to undead (crit immune) per hit from distance is better then sometimes doing more imho.
