EDM based Favored Soul 16/Blackguard 4/Darkfire Disciple 10, any thoughts?

Caster level of 28, with EDM and 4d6 Sneak Attack Dice. How would you go at it? Or would you go for something else entirely?

I'd likely go for a feinter drow in the underdark... you know, where feint is actually worth while

Power Attack, Cleave, Iron Will are PRC feat requirements. You will want Practised Spellcaster (Favored Soul), Extend Spell, Able Learner for the PRC skill requirements, and finally Divine Might to get Epic Divine Might. That is 7 pre-epic feats.

Thus if you want to go for a EDM feinter, you would have to switch Favored Soul for Cleric, and the requirement to get 16~ base wisdom kind of takes away the advantage you get from having +2 to charisma, intelligence, and dexterity. But with Darkness and Trickery Domains (Vhaeraun), you do get free Blindfight and Feint feats. Thus it is a possibility worthy of consideration.

If female drows would have cleric as their favored class, then Rogue/Cleric/Darkfire Disciple/Hierophant could be a very interesting option to go for.

Or get yourself a belt that will also give you extra sneak attack damage along with +2 bluff and bonus feat: feint. Not saying they're cheap, but they can still be purchased from other players. Obviously the Cleric path works as well if you don't want to hope for the chance to get the item. As a bonus you would not really need Blackguard anymore so you could go Cleric/Whirling Dervish/Darkfire Disciple to get evasion. Or you could take any number of other dips for benefits so long as they get at least one sneak attack dice. Heck, could go Cleric/Assassin/DD. CL only 24, but you have HiPS so can avoid dispels if you are smart about when you use it.

Point being, feinter doesn't necessarily need to get CE/Feint feats in order to be a good feinter. They do need to pump bluff and as I said, it only really works as a reliable option in the Underdark/Upperdark.

Whirling Dervish does require that 13 dexterity, which is fine on an EDM Drow I suppose. But it costs two feats, and you still need to get Power Attack on top to get Divine Might and Epic Divine Might.

Thus it might actually make sense to give up on EDM build just to free up some feats. Go high strength for example, or perhaps high wisdom coupled with Zen Archery. You wouldn't get the fire damage, but you can use summons to tank enemies while you circle around to get ranged sneak attacks.

Well, it's all a matter of what you get and what you give up... Whirling Dervish is expensive feat wise, but gives you evasion (and as you said, a female drow could take Rogue since Cleric is favored class). Assassin doesn't give evasion, but does give HiPS and death attack, at a cost of caster level. What makes Darkfire Disciple cool in my eyes is that it is now strong enough that there are many ways to build with it, but they all have their strengths and weaknesses. Allows for building a 'classic' cleric/thief archetype.

Female drows get cleric as favored class? We have that custom change? In default NWN2 they get wizard.

I misread your earlier post where you said 'if female drow get cleric as favored class'....my bad.

Anyhow, Darkfire Disciple is basically the only PRC that has managed to make a Favored Soul/Blackguard type of build interesting for me.

Your OP suggested build is something I also drew up a few weeks ago, right after BFZ/DD was given 8/10 progression. I think it is a stellar build, though it is a total buff bot, and if you can't stand buffing for 2 minutes in order to get optimal, the build really isn't for you.
