Just curious, is it possible for DMs to change the names of my character (mainly swapping their names), so I wouldn't have to RCR and be heart broken for the exp I lost? My experimental build turned out to be pretty fun. I understand I would need to RP my newly-attained powers.

Rename your characters via the disguise system and log out until reset. I hear that changes them.

I'm actually not sure if this is the process, but disguise name change is using the dmfi tool on yourself correct? I think its disabled.

Doesn't. The change won't stay. Your character will show up as under disguised name next time, but it'll revert to the original name upon rest.


And yes, DMs can rename a character.

It would also effectively be an exploit!

DMs can change your names.

Be advised that you can't have two characters with the same name in your character vault at the same time -- so you wouldn't want to name an existing character after an existing character until you've changed the "original" character's name to something different (or even just added an "e" on the end or something).

If you have two characters with the same name in your vault, you'll only be able to access one of them. The other one will appear to disappear from your vault and you'll need an admin to fix it.

If you do the disguise route.... it could glitch your PCs.... I know it did mine.
