Event posting spam

Please stop. Pretty please?

ICly you have not walked hundreds of miles just to post your flyer- posting it in every single rumor thread is honestly meta-gaming the hell out of the actual distance a character would have to travel in order to just stick a piece of parchment to a bulletin board or lamp post.

OOCly you have a wonderful thread created JUST for these events. You may find it here: https://www.bgtscc.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=56841

Nine times out of ten these things are image intensive, and a real pain in the @ass to load if you're cursed with a slower internet connection. By putting them in every single rumor thread, in order to read anything that might happen to be on the same page as that, you're making everyone have to load the damn thing over and over again. It literally makes trying to keep up to date with things being posted an utter nightmare for no good damn reason, because any one of us who visits the forum has the opportunity to see the event posting thread. You have not in the slightest increased your visibility, you've meta-gamed, and you've likely frustrated a lot of people.

DMs or Forum Mods, would it be possible to just... move the posters to the even thread, and then delete the excess? They're hellish to deal with, honestly.

I will teleport all along the coast to hand out and post flyers for my upcoming charity bake-sale for underprivileged halfling youths and there's nothing you can do to stop me! NOTHING

you only delay the inevitable! Though with my short attention span and terrible time management that could very well foil my current plans to distribute fliers for my flier distribution company's potluck. I'm bringing the potato salad.

I mean, it looks terrible to have a 70 page rumor thread with 69 and a half pages of unusable RP/rumors.
That's a really neat idea. Instead of deleting them, they can simply be moved to an Archived sub-forum. Based on date of latest post, in case there are people responding.

I think this is a fabulous idea!

Even better idea would be if rumors were actually accessible in-game. I.e. submitted through forum, loaded into a DB, and then some npc would pick one at random when prompted to speak.

Bulletin Boards.

Stick a note. It stays for x days costing Y amount of gold.

Done.

There's only ONE BULLETING BOARD in the ENTIRE SERVER that I know of, outside the Inn in Baldur's Gate.

I highly doubt anyone would be willing to walk IC from the FAI to Baldur's just to stick a scribble on a few slats of wood with a pin.

Add one to the FAI.

There's one more in Sshamath. It currently holds only one note that describes horrors of terrifying surface creature called a badger.

The worse is there are bits of pieces of such a system but nothing fully functional, yet anyway. There's so much that can be done ..

Is there any particular difficulty? Looks like a fairly quick thing to implement. Then again, finding time to implement one quick thing can be problematic, and a quick thing might result in not so quick polishing phase...

Nothing difficult, time is simply scarce and the amount of things to do astronomical.
