Are the palemaster summons/conjurations suppose to benefit from either spell focus conjuration or spell focus necromancy.
On the test module they do not benefit from it.
Even if they are suppose would the spell focus fall under conjuration or necromancy since the vampire seems to fall under conjuration.

Re: Palemaster and spell focus necromancy
PM abilities are create/animate undead and they should fall under necromancy and benefit from spell focus necromancy. Not sure how far Nachti got with implementing that stuff though.

Blackguard also has the ability to create undead. Just adding this here.

Re: Palemaster and spell focus necromancy
It is hard to say since the current PM is different than p&p, for example the PM from P&P has a cohort and is more melee orientated.
The palemaster undeads are described as summons in the tooltips.
Summoning is conjuration thus following the tooltip PM summons should benefit from conjuration.
Now when you look at the army of the death (which is necromancy) the caster creates.
The same goes for the spell create greater undead.
It specifically states you are creating an undead while with the PM it specifically states you summon one.
This can easily be solved
1: Change the tooltip so the PM is creating an undead, also wack them with an alignment shift towards evil every time they create one. This way it makes sense to make it scale with spell focus necromancy.
2: Treat PM abilities as summons and have them benefit from spell focus conjuration.
3: Change the undead to cohorts (and nerf the PM slightly).

The same as summon familiar, summon creature.Specifics: The palemaster can summon an undead creature twice a day etc etc.

Re: Palemaster and spell focus necromancy
PM ability names are creating the confusion. Tooltip might also be wrong. Read the description of the abilities on the wiki, it correctly states they are create and animate. Which they also should be. The abilities are necromancy, they create or animate undead, they are evil just like the spell versions. Don't ask me why PM isn't restricted to evil...dedude wrote:PM abilities are create/animate undead and they should fall under necromancy and benefit from spell focus necromancy.
