Post-Update Bug Report Thread

1.
Cavestalker hips is fixed now (doesnt give hips in none natural caves no more)
But in natural caves the speed bug iss still there. (When you hips and then turn on dark vision you get to sneak max speed perhaps even faster then normal running for normal speed toons)

2.
And Drogo just tells me there is no range on pick pocked so he can pick pockeds from far away

3.
Just got attacked by 3 ogres inthe ogre cave and as i hipsed 2 just went poof so only had to fight 1 ogre out of 3 :S

I was not changing items. The spell didn't actually fail. And the count of times I used that rune is wrong, I've used it many many many times more than that.

I got to the place I was teleporting to without issue, but here you go!

Bug with Spells Cast on Items, Subsequent Castings

(1) When I cast Greater Magic Weapon on a mace in my inventory, I get the error message: "Spell failure, do not equip items when casting."

At first I thought this was because I changed an amulet during casting (when I also got the message for Align Weapon), but then I realized it wasn't letting me cast that spell on my bow when it was equipped. I unequipped it and it worked.

Now though GMW will not work, whether the mace is equipped or not.

(2) Just as perplexing, whatever the NEXT spell I cast is, it fails too, but without a warning. I tried a teleport, I just stood there with no visual effects even. Next time GMW failed, I followed with a bull's strength, and again, it did nothing. The spell after the bull's strength did work, however.

So. . . weird.

EDIT: The GMW did work! But the error message and subsequent failure are still an issue

EDIT: I get the message with Mark Rune too

I personally have not seen a GMW issue, and I use it often on my Cleric PC/FS PC/etc

What I am reading is you do not have it equipped when you were casting it right? And then while doing it you equipped it?

If so, have the weapon equipped way before proc'ing the spell or even clicking to cast it. Basically the weapon HAS to be in the PC's hand to get the spell.

As for spells following after I know there is a script or something put in for spells as there was an exploit that could happen, like a quick cast if you had it proc'ed in some manner. Other players can give a more explained answer on that. Anyways it just prevents you from doing that so Spell Failure happens a bit more often. I haven't had too much issue lately, I get maybe an occasional spell failure from it.

So I just let that first one go through and then line up my others.

A bunch of spells are giving people the message about spell failure and not equipping while you cast. One time I cast GMW and didn't get the message, I also didn't get the effects of GMW. When I teleport I get the message about spell failure and not equipping while I cast. I still get teleported. It's weird.

One time I cast Mislead right after casting - for some reason - I got no effect at all, no double or nothing. Worked again later, just like GMW did.

A little more experimentation reveals the following:

The message appears any time I cast a spell on an object (weapon, rune, etc.). It does not seem to render the spell ineffective, however.

What it does do is render the NEXT spell ineffective. I waited several rounds (and a new area loading) after using teleport on a rune, and getting the message. The next spell failed, without any notice or visual effect.

I get notifications of success but nothing happens. I also will get notifications of failure and it'll work.

Since the update, I've had this come across multiple times. I'll cast an offensive necromancy spell and the combat log won't show a DC role for the targeted creature. I'll cast the exact same spell again against the exact same creature and the combat log will register the roll and show me success/failure.

1) The entrance at Undrek Naudal is missing (making you unable to get to Rockrun Passage)

I'm consolidating all Post-Update bug reports into this single thread. Please use it to continue your bug reporting.

If you discover a serious exploit, please PM those reports directly to the Associate Dev team and do not post them here.


I can confirm that whenever you cast a spell on an item (eg. Greater Magic Weapon; Magic Vestment), it gives the yellow message 'Spell failure; do not equip items when casting.' That spell works normally. The next spell you cast (irregardless of time between casting), however, will then automatically fail with no message that it has failed to cast.

Not sure if it has something to do with the update (perhaps something on my side), but I have never seen these glitches before.

Seems like every 2nd cast of Teleport (and their variants, eg. Mirror Walk) fails for no reason.
