UI problem: Enemy portraits won't display

Not sure when I first started dealing with this issue, for a while I just grinned and bore it, but I've found that when selecting targets at range, I am having a lot of difficulties.

I can't get enemy portraits to display anymore when I target them. I can get my portrait to pop up, or an ally portrait to pop up, but not enemies. I still get the red circle underneath them, but at long range it is super hard to see. I've tried relogging, restarting the server, and toggling the options menu effect to display health on portraits, nothing has brought enemy pictures back. This issue is especially painful when trying to pick out an enemy caster with TAB-targetting

None. Kept it clear so the server content will be unimpeded. It was actually successfully displaying the enemy portraits until just a few days ago, but then it disappeared without me altering the game. The problem doesn't just show up on BG either; it is also showing up in the single player campaigns and on other servers.

Are you sure the enemy portrait is not hiding under something? The map? The hotbars? Move everything around.

Wow....I am embarrassed...that is EXACTLY what was happening. Sneaky little thing had somehow been placed behind the minimap at some point..
