Redesign of Eastern Farmlands...

Because the FAI is still the hotspot, and not the server's namesake, even though the CR areas in the vicinity have a simlar range, i propose the BG eastern farmlands have the walls extended, to fit Mudd's auction within them, after Entering a gate/portcullis.
That way, more people will choose BG as a jump off point. The biggest reason I almost always choose FAI is because the auction is right there, and a merchant to dump off heavy armor and other unwanted loot.
If it were at the Eastern Farmlands, I would have more "choice". As it is, the auction at BG is two transitions away... ..and then from there, any level 6+ fights are at least another 2 transitions away.

TBH I've been thinking that someone should re-make that whole 'The Wide' area where the market stalls are. It's way too cramped at the merchant. Only 2 characters can access the merchant at the same time. It also still says the area is blighted... and is overall lacklustre.
Would be nice to indeed move the auctioneer out there and have some other fun merchants there. Place a garden instead in the Palace District!

Ideally eastner farmlands should be the Slums and the Wide would be much better .. however ..Any experienced area designers with loads of free time around ?

If nothing can be done to widen what city area there is I for one support altering eastern farmlands to a slum area.
Eastern farmland as a slum area would also create more of an impact to the area from the paladin keep situated there (Radiant Heart).
Though really, a slum naturally would be near the docks.
Even if we do this without a toon supported DM as an excuse, I strongly see a DM with toon support razing the area given plots and time though. It has happened a few times before.

This was what I was working on before I resigned. The team voted against it, even though I'd done nearly 90% of the work. It's lost to the ages now though, unless one of the other developers kept what I showed them?

The area outside both the east gate and the north gate are in lore the slums / poorer parts while the docks are built up as industrial and business. The city forms a natural U around a bay on the Chionthar and there is a lot more docks than depicted in game. BG is very heavy on trade and industry and the unprotected areas outside the walls along the roads would be cheapest. I wouldnt equate it to Roaringshore though.

The original BG game city of Baldur's Gate.
The server's version is somewhere in the middle.

That's the artist version of the BG game map, and while it's some eyecandy it's really far from what the city should be lorewise.

I'm more for Volo's one, the BG CRPG one might look fancy but it's by and large very inaccurate lore wise and totally unrealistic on top of it. Medieval walled cities were cramped places with next to no trees and the houses weren't hugging the defensive walls (or trees).

dose it really matter it has been a long time we have a full server any way so what the point to make it bigger if the server lag?

That harbor is ridiculously small xD xD
