So I recently started playing Overlord. One thing led to another, and now I want to rule the server through the iron fist of summoned minions. Some questions:

1. Do Thaumaturge and Dreadmaster have good synergy?
2. I noticed that you apparently can't have summons and a cohort now, or has that changed again?
3. Is a summoned Baneguard any good?
4. Is it worth spending feats to get both Epic Spell Focus Conjuration and Epic Spell Focus Necromancy? A Thaumaturge/Dreadmaster seems to need both.
5. Is the server even playable by just spamming summons?
6. Does having above CL30 have any effect on summons/cohorts?
7. Should I stop raising WIS once I reach 19 then increase STR, if I don't intend to use offensive spells? Likely if I don't have spell penetration.

That's all for now. Never played a summoner before, but it seems fun.

A Summons will never equal a Level 30 or CR 30 PC/NPC. But they do make for a worthwhile fighting companion, once buffed to the nines.

Dreadmaster has a requirement of Spell Focus: Enchantment, which is granted by the Tyranny Domain. So, you should consider utilizing those Hold/Charm spells, which means you have to focus on DCs = high as possible Wisdom!

I've built a Dreadlord/Thaumaturge with the possibility of Storm of Vengeance DC 38 and Dominate Monster DC 37. But many PCs and mob Bosses have Fortitude and Will saves at 36+, so they would only fail on a 1.

Nonetheless, there is tons of RP potential here, but you won't really achieve COMPLETE OVERLORD status, mechanically.
