Special Heritage Feats

I'm currently playing a warlock and decided that my character comes from a fey pact bloodline. When I was planning the character out i have found that I want to take the fey pact feats because its makes sense for my character to have those. However many of these feats don't really do anything for a warlock, or the parts that do are bugged. There's no mention in the wiki if these were fixed in any way.

In regards to the fey feats the only one that really does anything is the fey skin feat, but that requires other feats to be of good effect. Fey heritage is pretty bad when you could just take iron will, and the others produce x per day effects that a warlock could gain as unlimited invocations anyway. - ones i should be taking as a fey warlock.

I've not explored the fiendish ones so much but they do look to have a couple more useful ones such as summon creature.

Draconic Heritage seems to have many small effects to abilities and spells found over several classes. Its a single feat with no real benefit at early levels but seems pretty good if thats the route your character is taking.

I struggled to make a choice to take these as a warlock already suffers from low spell save DCs (due to unlimited casting potential) and I just cant see why I would ever pick these feats as they are.

As these feats are multiple investment feats could we perhaps look at these?

So an example of what I thought (this is mostly warlock mind);

If you take a heritage feat it could change the warlock summon that you get, fey for fey, fiend for fiend, etc when casting "the dead walk". It does not have to be more powerful or even have different stats, could just change the type/appearance?

the warlock already gets charm and confusion as a invocation choice, could the fey ones (legacy & presence) interact with these in some way? either extended duration, power, dc, or even become exact unlimited copies of the warlock version if you are a warlock to allow you to choose different invocations?

The same could be true with the fiendish ones to some extent.

fey ones are great, and I believe they stack with warlocks DR/-, because both are cold iron. fiendish heritage feats suck, unless they got changed when draconic was introduced.

I wish fiendish heritage gave DR/- cold iron.

Yes the skin one is good for the DR. But you are taking 5 feats for 5 DR. It's not exactly the best use of those feats!

I believe it stacks with warlock DR, that comes without feats. And 5 DR is pretty good, especially considering the feats come with other bonuses as well.

but the heritage feats are not exactly powerbuild feats. Ive considered fey heritage with wwarlock... but feylocks are kind of discouraged here for lore reasons, kind of like good drow.

If the entire feat lines value lies in some DR you can take armour master DR feat and iron will and be better off than taking the fey feats. Which then asks why are they here?

When you are playing a spellcaster you dont want to have to use DR in the first place. The warlocks DR is kinda there to make up for the fact that you dont get a load of mitigation spells to choose from.

Fey warlocks are listed on the FR wiki and in the dnd rules. If they were not listed at the time of 3.5 printing they have since been retcon'd to be included. You could consider such an omission due to the warlock being a relatively new class at the time compared to the traditional ones. The same is true for the tiefling becoming a standard race.

Because the fey line, is really supposed to be more for the caster types, lorewise. It is supposed to be for bardic and sorcerer types, as far as I understand. It's not supposed to be for warlocks and armored warriors.

well, yeah. I guess. Stoneskin negates fey skin, so does premonition. But maybe you are a sorcerer or bard fey blood, and you want to do enchanting spells.

true. But feylocks, like goodly gray orcs and drow, are kind of discouraged here. You are allowed to play them if that tickles your pickle. I won't be.

Some of those feats do specifically mention warlocks.

Our opinions on the subject aside, it does not change the fact that these feats are pretty bad.

A 6th level requirement feat that lets you cast deep slumber 2x per day (which is sleep at max 10HD) is pretty weak. Even if you took this only as the DR boost for skin you would still not take this over anything else. Toughness grants more reliable HP than 1 DR is going to soak.

If the spell scaled to affect more HD, say 1HD per CL, but with a fixed duration it would at least be usable outside of the level its chosen at. I would also prefer a cooldown timer but that might be wishful thinking.

I don't even know if these spell feats take your int/wis/cha into account for their save DCs. If they don't then they are even worse.

Yeah, the heritage feats are weak, they are basically lore feats. What sucks is fiendish heritage, whcih I think coudl fit the warlock better, is five, completely and utterly useless feats. ate least fey heritage gives Dr/-.

There are lots of weak feats.

I have still considered a feylock build for the DR/-, but nixed it, not because I thought it would be weak, but because I dont want to do a feylock.

Well I'm sure we can come up with some suggestions for these to be improved. The fiendish ones are ok for the fire/acid resist but the summon/fear ones are meh.

The summon should have been a hellhound or some other fiend. I guess this could have been the combi-feat with it becoming more powerful if you have more feats. Or it could be the teleport version thats in pnp.

I've been looking and I can't seem to find a straight up list of what Invocations for Warlock are specifically enhanced by the Draconic Heritage Feat. I recently rolled up a Warlock with Draconic Heritage for some interesting RP. But I'd like to know what I will be able to look forward to with this Feat taken. Could someone please offer up a List of Invocations for this Feat Interaction?
Thank you for any time or effort in the compilation.
