craft traps from potions and poisons

when playing a sneak, one of the most gratfying and inventive ways to help beat enemies you cant take on toe-to-toe, is laying traps.

unfortunately, traps take an inventory space up, and the collected ones are always nerfed a level lower, so they tend to suck.

so what i am proposing is the ability to buy stackable traps kits, and then using craft trap skills, build traps from poisons, alchemist fires and acids, (and other grenade items). perhaps require a small tool bench item weighing 5 or 10 pounds.

this would give great fun and ingenuity, imho.

Have you tried dedudes flash and grease bombs? I bet he could make other interesting items if you care to suggest. Stackable traps would be fantastic if it's possible.

no, but i saw them in the shop and thought it was cool. havent really played the type that uses them since i returned. i dont think stackable traps are possible, or maybe are but are not done to stop trap farming for cash, simce traps on chests regenerate quickly?

anyways, this way, the trap maker would make traps on the fly. be nice if holy water were more powerful, but maybe cure wounds potions could be used on undead. chests get dispel traps, but only when not detected i think. (i never got hit by dispel traps until i started playing non rogue types, and started opening traps without searching by habit). a minor dispelling trap.

also, with this craft system, super deadly poisons could be used... ..and perhaps the trap could be data-linked to the creator, (to discourage griefing), or, maybe even a message warning it tracks to the creator, and the creator is responsible for it. (even if its not true, it will discourage many).

might be neat too if you could make tanglefoot traps, that dont stop the monster from fighting, but do keep it from being able to move, and takes away its dex armor bonus, and maybe knocks it down, depending on its reflex and strength checks. choking powder would be good to use in traps as well

also, maybe just an alarm trap, a combo of rurics rune of light and alarm, that would expose a sneaker, or do a check against their hide and ms, if they fail, they are exposed.

speaking of which, i never understood the griefing thong. wouldnt you need to toggle someone to hostile forthem to trigger your trap? it just sucks trappers got their toys taken away by griefers. i used yoshiros traps for all sorts of situations in bgii.
