Is it true that one can only get the Dragon Companion with a Lvl 30 Druid?

Anyway I have tried it, one needs 26 levels of Druid for 8x Wildshape, which unlocks Dragon Shape, which unlocks Dragon Companion (not to forget to mention one needs Epic Animal Companion feat as well). If you take a 3 level dip, and with the 3b20 Rule, that level 26 Druid comes on Level 29 of the Build...and the last available Feat slot, thus, no additional slot for Dragon Companion.

I was looking for a Druid 27 / X 3 split to add some flavor to my Character idea, but I just can't get double-dragon-trouble if I want to dip.

I had dragon companion at level 28 with my druid. The point is that you need dragonshape first, which you can only get at 27.

EDIT: Oh, I see what you mean. Yeah, you can only get dragon companion with a pure druid.

And soon every hedge mage (divine or arcane) can have its dragon

And any pure druid can have three on their screen, 1: themself in the Dragon Shape, their Dragon Animal Companion, and as their epic spell Summon. (You can take the Dragon Knight epic spell prior to level 27.)
