shin guards in appearance changer (kit)

I found that shin guards, which count as armor parts, are overridden by boots, i.e. they become invisible unless one does not wear any boots. This basically makes them useless and a wasted feature. Can this be fixed? It would be nice to modify this part of the armor as well.
