Savras is trapped in a staff

i made a monk/paladin of savras, dedicated to truth, long ago.
I asked if he could cast paladin spells on the forum, and a dm said yes.

however, from what i am reading, the answer is clearly no. the best savras can do right now while in the staff is teleport himself away from azuth and block azuths divining powers from finding the staff.

i am attatched to this guys lore and background. the rp history had some strange coincidences, almost only explicable by being guided by the third eye... (though i can not remember them right now)

so i intend to reroll him soon, as a monk/paladin without divine spells.

one option is to make him an alchemist. perhaps only casting his spells to create potions. but not sure if the spell casting is a mechanic, or required in lore to create a potion.

another option is to maybe cross class him with an arcane class. as savras was one of the wizard type gods, this would not be strange, an arcane paladin of savras. It may be strange to make him a sorcerer. or perhaps cross class him with spirit shaman, his spirit being an agent of savras from another plane, as i read that savras in the staff only kept him from being able to grant spells to his followers on toriel.

the paladin class will still allow him to use paladin scrolls, and items, but probably not lay on hands, another divine power.

but before i rcr... ...is there any way he could get divine powers from savras? Is it unheard of for an ally god to grant powers to followers of an ally god? Can he know Savras' fate, or did followers just one day find thier divine powers gone, with no explanation? Are there some divine powers that would still be available, like turn undead, lay hands, or divine might? if he knows the fate of savras, does this make him an enemy of followers of azuth, perhaps even a zealot seeking them out to continue a lost war?

The Gur, an ethnic group of Humans that are Canon Lore-based in Baldur's Gate, have a tradition of secretly worshipping Savras.

Because the Gur traditionally put great weight on honestly and such Lawful things, AND being a struggling lower class, I can easily imagine a Paladin of the People...who is a divine champion of the mystic teachings passed down—secretly—amongst the Gur soothsayers and diviners.

Check em out! The RP potential there is yuuuuuge! 8-)

so would this mean they have innate divinition abilities, so perhaps i could use the paladin divination spells... ( yes! detect undead, which i happen to like!)
