1. were days and nights extended? i feel like they went by faster in the past.
2. somewhere i got the impression that now, "x use per day" items that dont have a CL attached go by character level. is this so?
3. was "pass through walls" spell removed? It is still in one of my spell books.
4. do lanterns no longer emit glow? my old ones were dorked, so i bought new ones, and they seem not to work either, even if i try toggling them.
5. i read something in the newest changelog about tintability. then i seemed to notice an outfit had a nice color i had not noticed before. does that mean some citems will change to the chosen "hair accessory" color?

1. Yes
2. Character Level-tied casting was fixed with the Dispel Fix. It is now actual Caster Level. Hi M3nt!!
3. Last I remember, Pass through Walls is a spell to use with DM permission.
4. Lanterns have been having trouble for years. I think Theodore01 knows where you can buy the real good ones...or maybe, it is still that only the ones you find in chests, work? Also, you can try dropping the lantern, then picking it up again, then equipping it. Does that fix it for you?
5. That is a question for Chambo to answer, I think.

let me clarify 2:
if you have a girdle of king violos, the bears endurance will last 3 minutes and have a low dispel check for a level 3, but last 30 minutes and have a high dc for a level 30... ...even if its a level 30 barbarian?
or does it require caster levels to last longer than... ...an innate and unnamed amount?
it used to last 15 minutes, which meant cl 15, i think.
another question
i just read through all the changelogs since i left...
is self-concealment available as a feat now? (said it requires 27 dex).

The CL on spells cast through items is set, and depends on the items, it's usually indicated. Any way the PC using the item has no influence on the spell, level 3 or 30 no difference.
Self-concealment is a vanilla feat, it was always available, its requirements were only lowered a bit.

That is not the case. I dont know how long ago you talk about, but in 2014 ( i think ) there was a bug that umd items could actually scale with character level.
It has been fixed though and like Valefort said, whether there is a CL on the item or not, the character level does nothing to it

Hi steve! Is it time to talk about lowering the dispel cap?

If you mean
Pass Wall or the level 9
mass version they do work in
some places. I use it frequently. In some places you get a message that wards prevent it, in some other places it just doesn't work. Basically, you want to face the wall you're passing through when you cast it, and if using the mass version people in party should stand close, like with teleport.
There's one place in particular where I use it, in the minotaur maze to save like... 30 seconds of running. Mystra weeps but I can't be bothered. The spell came up in events for me exactly one time over now nearly two years and of course I hadn't memorized it.
If it hadn't been in your spellbook it is now scribable too! I sold a few scrolls of it from time to time
