What is the max you can have for a skill with items?? Then what is the max with spells. I should have like 96 natural with gear but not showing under skills. Can anyone explain? Thanks

Max +skill bonus is +50. This includes bonuses from +skill items and +skill spells as such bonuses stack to the maximum of +50.

Skill bonuses from (racial) feats, eg. Tiefling Racial Hide + Skill Focus Hide + Stealthy do not count towards the +50 skill cap as they are sourced from feats. So the highest 'base' skill you can have is 33 (base points) + Ability Modifier + Racial Bonus + Feat Bonuses, to which is added your +skill items/spells to a max of +50.

Okay. Thanks. I'll have to remember that. So what's the point of aquring gear over the years that are +4 or greater to help out skills. Just ranting. But thank you for the info.

even if you had all 11 slots with +4 skills, thats still 44....

The question is why skills are stacking at all

I have some that is +6. Grandfathered in. Also there is a +10 cloak I may or may not acquire. But if I cannot go pass 50, then there is no reason to waste the gold. Thanks again

Crazy, back in the day I had to give the DM's all my +6 grandfathered stuff and they gave me back +4 stuff.

But I'm a PnP player and suck at optimizing, so... what do I know? Oh how the world would be different if they didn't stack.
