Background Summary:
Theodor grew up in Baldur’s Gate to a hard-working, modest family. His father worked at the docks, unloading the various merchant ships which would come and go in the harbor. Theodor spent much of his younger life with his mother, who taught him of the Goodly deities, and the importance of them. His parents had always encouraged him to follow his natural instincts, which eventually led him to yearn for the path of a Paladin.
At the age of ten Theodor’s parents half-heartedly gave into his desire for such a path, as they knew they may see little of him again. He was brought to the Temple of Tyr, and set upon the path to become a Paladin. His learnings included much about the history, and ethos of the Triad, among other similar deities. He spent most of his time within the Just God’s Temple, though was sent off to learn further of Ilmater and Torm.
At the age of fifteen, Theodor started his training as a squire. During this time, he would again be exposed to the different parts of the Triad individually, as well as how the three act as a single unit. His days were filled with sparring, patrolling the nearby Trade Way, surviving off the land, and aiding those less fortunate within the City.
As he ascended into a full-fledged Paladin, Theodor was forged into a determined, proud young man. He spent most of his time in the local area, and aided with many troubles throughout the years. He is often found within the Temple of Tyr or Ilmater; aiding the sick and injured within the city; petitioning the locals to donate to the temples of the Triad; and patrolling the surrounding areas.
Goals:
-To epitomize the meaning of a Paladin of Tyr
-To continue his persecution of wrong-doers, and evil-mongers.
-To uphold all that is True and Just in the lands; to instill hope, justice, and security in those who depend on him
-To one-day petition for membership into the “Knights of the Merciful Sword”
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
-During his time spent learning of the different Triad faiths, Theodor empathized greatly with the Ilmatari and their cause. He struggles to balance his instilled dogma, with that of the Ilmatari, sometimes criticized for leaning too much toward mercy.
