Introduce an NPC to nexus we can give gold to!
Hello!
Until now, I've simulated costs of maintaining ships and equipment and whatnot by buying and burning healing kits.
I'm wondering if it'd be possible to have an NPC in the Nexus you can give any amount of gold to in exchange for absolute nothing.
Purpose of this is to aid people in simulating costs of running certain enterprises IC without having to harrass DMs.

Add a back end with an optional description for the gold spent that DMs can see too, I think.

Could have it be a console message that you can screenshot if a DM wants to know it. But idea is mostly self-policing.

I don't mean make it so DMs have to respond to a gold drop. DMs would always choose how to respond. I just think it could provide helpful ques to them.

Talk about a gold sink, amirite?
Dedude was talking about adding some functionality to store gold in the bank, maybe something could be rolled into this system that allows you to "donate" (aka delete) gold from your inventory if you really want to, though I don't think an NPC in the Nexus itself for this explicit purpose is necessary (and just one more reason for players to be in the Nexus, something we discourage and are trying to generally eliminate the mechanical need for).
Pretty sure Aspect of Sorrow has also literally made an item you can populate gold into and then drop on the ground, so if we get that in-game you can also just put the amount you want in it and then burn it in a campfire.

That could work. Idea for Nexus was to balance the fact that multiple enterprises use vastly different resources and locations, and forcing everyone to use the same OOC NPC IG would require some cover stories. Nexus wouldn't require them. But items you can specifically put exact change into could also work.

I think this would be a great idea, especially for those who do charity events so that we don't have to stop and pester a DM to take the amount out of our account. Would be far easier to pop up after a reset, donate, and can screenshot it and if it can be recorded showing to what its for...perfect.

I'd recommend something other than healing kits. Go to a shop, buy the most expensive armor and dump it into trash can. Problem solved.Hoihe wrote:Hello!

Ability to drop gold would be nice, though.
