Blinding Strike timer

Unread post by Twotricks »

This is description of the feat on wiki page :
As a full attack action, you may make a single attack using your best attack bonus. If you hit, the opponent makes a Fortitude save DC of 10 + (sneak dice) + (1/5 character level) + (1/5 rogue levels) and is blinded for 1+d4 rounds on a failure. This strike only works once per turn and not on a creature previously hit with Blinding strike within that turn.

This is a bummer :(

This was a nice feat for rogue to take, not to be punished for not playing assassin class. But ten rounds timer makes it much less useful.

Any chance of making it work once a round ? But to make it more balanced it could be 1 full attack ?

I just feel rogues need bit of a break in combat, instead making assasin simply better version of rogue in every way.

A turn is 10 rounds, so 60 seconds, are you sure you know what you are asking?

Hmm... Didnt know that.

In that case I think it should be 1 round instead of one turn.

The feat is fine and powerful as it is.

It's cooldown is actually 45 seconds and it's quite powerful. If you want to spam something to use sneak attacks get feint.

Quite powerful?

Lets see, a single class Rogue gets 'Hide in the Shadows' for free, as far as I know, at level 7.

The DC could be as high as:
10
+ 22 (15d6 Rogue Sneak Attack Dice, with 7 Improved Sneak Attack epic feats)
+ 6 (1/5 character level)
+ 6 (1/5 rogue levels)
= 44 :o

The downside to that character would be lack of perfect two weapon fighting.

Can you use Blinding Strike with a ranged weapons?

Actually my rogue would have 21d6 sneak. Plus lvl of shadow dancer. And perfect two weapon fighting.

But now with all I learned about HiTS it seems it works just like HiPS. You can hide even if you are in line of sight of enemy ???

Improved sneak attack dices are not counted for the DC, only the ones given by class progression.
