Make a build for this guy...



A man with a vow of poverty, who goes around punching evil in the face... Wearing nothing but regular clothes.

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the character, but it seems you really don't need to take paladin as part of the build for role play purposes.

Sacred Fist itself is already sworn to a particular oath of not using weapons and other similar ideas.

A more effective concept, if I may, would seem to be a regular Cleric/Sacred Fist/Monk build. I'm currently building/working on a 20 monk/7 sacred fist/3 cleric (travel and good domain). Good permits aura of courage (very much like paladin), you'll end up with close to lvl 30 monk fighting since sacred fist gains unarmed fighting, ac bonuses, and movement speed per level as monk, but also spell casting progression with Cleric. This in essence gives you a 27 monk/9 cleric at level 30, with aura of courage and all the other additional awesome monk abilities up to level 20. You may lack in a few other areas, and you miss out on the full sacred fist fire divine fist bonus, but it was worth the trade off when I made the build with these idea's in mind. I can share the build with you if you like, I typically keep builds to myself but this is one I don't mind sharing and it seems to coincide with your character concept.

It essentially grants full monk fighting AB and unarmed damage, but with a few bonuses and trade-offs that make sense for a more holy-oriented monk type.

I bring you:
The Sacred Monkaladin Fist - Emphasis on Paladin.
The Sacred Paladink Fist - Emphasis on Monk.

Honestly, I think you'd gain a whole lot more by going with a Cleric instead of the paladin.

What about Cl3/M11/SF10/Hospitaler6? Not familiar with the character pictured, but hospitaler has the vow of poverty, +3 CL, high BAB and a bonus feat which can come in epics. Will have CL18 and 7th level spells, BAB 26, 2d10 fist damage with 8 APR... Something of a mix between the M20/C3/SF7 and the M6/C8/SF10/Hiero 6. More spells than the former, but still easily dispelled, a bit more damage than the latter.

+ 4 (Enchantment Bonus Gauntlets)
+ 20 (Epic Divine Might)
+ 15 (Sacred Flames, with Owl's Wisdom)
+ 3 (Divine Favor)
= 59~ per hit, 8 attacks per round.


Although I guess some great smite build would fit the build better, simply due to being able to kill everything in one punch.

The only problem I see with the 17 pal build you posted is on epic content too low AC. I would think that you would really need more levels in monk for the added benefits of the immunities, spell resistances, and quivering palm (which kind of IS a one punch attack, although limited).

Also, the character from the short doesn't fit the fantasy concept of a paladin; he seems more the Bruce Lee apathetic type seeking the ultimate challenge (at least from the short), this would definitely coincide better with more monk than paladin. He seems to get 'high' from the thrill of finding enemies worth testing his skills, which is a motivation for his desire to be a 'super hero', as opposed to a Paladin in selfless service to a deity.

Just my two cents though. I kind of thought about the epic divine might route for a monk, but I'm not sure how it would play out build wise.
