Troubleshooting question:
Did you change your name back to the name used to sell the item and then speak with the merchant? Did you use the exact same spelling / punctuation / spacing?

I don't go to Mudd while disguised, however I just tested and it seems you can still go on the auction while doing so which leads me to believe someone may try something malicious this way.

I thought the same thing happened to me.
It turns out when I logged in I used my bioware login spelled apis vs Apis, and that made all the difference. I would advise that you ensure your login name is using the same capitalization scheme as it may have been when you sold your goods.
