Upperdark - XP/Loot issues

Blackrock has been incorrectly flagged as Underdark, therefore no loot/xp gains are possible there for surface characters. This is probably an oversight. All the other areas connecting to it are fine, though.

My mistake, thought it was part of Rockrun entirely.

Okay so this issue is more complex than it seemed at my initial observation.

Half-drow (not sure if it affects full drow) are currently incapable of loot/xp gains in the following Upperdark areas:

Ogre Cave
Titanfist Mine
Kro's Labyrinth
(Possibly Kro's Descent too; we never got that far enough to test)
(Possibly Ruins of Oghrann for the same reason)

Funny thing is that this would never be an issue if that antiquated rule of 'separation' finally got abolished like it well should. Sigh. :(

Honestly, if they're going to stay separate like this, why are they on the same server? Clear space for both by doing that 'second server' thing people keep suggesting, one Underdark one Surface with maybe a portaller between them somewhere.

I agree with Tsid, let's do away with the Separation rule.

Nope. Party consisted of 2x human, 1x tiefling, 1x half-drow. No-one was using polymorph/wildshape or anything like that.

What other servers?

There are pretty much 2 decently populated servers total, BG is one of them.

To encourage people staying on the proper side put in-game bounties for capturing drow or something. Possibly with a permastrike for captives.

Consequences for corssing over should be IC and not random mechanical walls.

I highly doubt that was because of UD/Surface thing. Especially given the nature of the OTHER popular server.

The reason I posted previous post is because I think this approach is wrong. What you're trying to do is to prevent either a minor issue or a non-issue via automated means and create new bugs in the process... while the server is supposed to be a RP-oriented. Meaning it should be handled by IC means first.

Why not put bounty on surfacing drow, notify DMs about someone who has been venturing too often to the other side. This would provide RP/plot hooks and could lead to more interesting developments.

Speaking of which I think that disabling loot chests and quests on other side might make sense, disabling XP is a wrong idea and is going too far. Besides it doesn't make sense (do surfacers suddenly become dumb and incapable of learning anything while in sshamath?).

went to Ruins of Oghrann with my surfacer.

no mobs xp,

and open chest but no loot.

before the update, it was fine there.

Underdark Script False Positive

The anti-grinding UD script fires off in the upperdark area Ruins of Oghram for surfacers. It is mistakenly marked as UD.
