How do weapons like morningstar with bludgeoing/piercing damage behave vs damage resistance.
I always assumen they can be used to over come damage resistances of either type as long as not both are present simultaneously. But it turns out I was wrong.
My test was morningstar +4 and rapier +4 vs the elven vampires in the deep high moor.
the morningstar damage was reduced by 1 immunity and 1 dr
the rapier was reduced only by the dr

Yes it should be that way.Weapon will use lowest damage resistance
Example:
5/slashing /3 pierce creature
assume all weapons got 10 dmg
-slashing will deal 10-5=5 dmg
-piercing 10-3=7 dmg
-bludgeoning 10-0=10 dmg
-slashing/pierce 10-3=7 case pierce resist is lower
-bludgeoning/piercing 10-0=10 dmg case bludg is lower
But it will use highest ac bonus
Example:
character with 4 dodge, 2 dodge vs pierce, 4 dodge vs slashing will have
-4 ac vs blung weapon
-6 ac vs pierce
-8 ac vs slash
-6 ac vs blung/pierce
-8 ac vs slashing/pierce
But the most important, game lies to us about weapon damage types. Boots 4 dodge 4 vs pierce actually got 8 ac vs Greatsword/longsword despite IG description being slashing.

The problem with this is that that vampires should have a 10/Alchemical Silver DR. Blunt is not even a thing with vampires. Long as it is Alchemical Silver you should be bypassing the Vampires DR.
However if you have a monster that has DR /Slashing and you have a piercing and slashing sword or a piercing and slashing halberd the weapon then the DR should be negated.
DR /Piercing same thing.
DR/Blunt need weapon with blunt to by bypass I.E. Morning Star Bone Crusher Bow will bypass even though they have piercing as well.
