Tell Me All About Crafting Here
Tell me everything! What can be done? What can you make? Is there an XP or gold cost? Can potions/scrolls/wands be made with higher than minimum caster levels? Is there a list of craftable wands? Etc.
If there's pages you can just link me to that's fine, but I want to make sure I don't miss anything before I start taking any craft feats.

Re: Tell Me All About Crafting Here
Actual weapons crafting and enchanting is still in the make, but that has been for years, so I'm not sure that'll see the light of day anytime soon.
What we do have are Master Alchemist and Techsmith of Gond. Apart from that you can craft wands.
I'm sure someone with actual knowledge on the subjects can chime in with the details however.

Is there anything we as players can help with the crafting systems, even us who don't know how to code?

**Post edited to reflect further testing**
Wands are mostly the same as in vanilla NWN2, although Flame Weapon is now a CL3 wand instead of CL17 (this seems to be a leftover from a server change that was subsequently reversed).
Potion/elixir brewing for Master Alchemist is a little wonky, and you can't go by the in-game descriptions of the class abilities. The big benefit to Master Alchemist is that you can makepotions/elixirs of up to level 7 spells. Despite the Advanced Brewing feat saying you can ignore the level 3 spell limit for potion brewing, trying to brew a potion above 3rd level spells will result in failure. You have to use the elixir brewing mode for any spell above level 3.
For potion brewing, you need an empty magical potion bottle, which you can buy at Sorcerous Sundries in Baldur's Gate East Gate District. Then you simply cast the spell on the bottle.
For elixir brewing, Master Alchemist gives you the option of turning on a special brewing mode, and when you are in this mode you can create elixirs instead of potions, simply by casting a spell (note: you do NOT need to target a potion bottle to make an elixir, so be careful to turn this mode off when you are done making elixirs, or else your next spell could get pretty expensive!) You can adjust the CL of elixirs to make them stronger by entering in your desired CL when you turn on the brewing mode, but the CL of elixirs cannot be below 10.
The wonky part is that currently, you can adjust the CL of potions too, right after you cast the spell on the bottle (my understanding is that potion brewing is supposed to be the same as vanilla NWN2). Another wonky part is that potions have random minimum CLs that depend on the spell being brewed; ie: Improved Mage Armor potions/elixirs have a minimum CL of 10 and Mirror Image potions/elixirs have a minimum CL of 12, but Reduce Person potions/elixirs can be brewed at CL 1 and Enlarge Person potions/elixirs have a minimum CL of 5.
And potions are actually more expensive to create than elixirs. Assuming you have full Master Alchemist levels, the crafting cost for normal potions is:
(caster level of the potion) x (spell level) x (25)
The crafting cost for elixirs is:
(caster level of the potion) x (spell level) x (20)
So really, a Master Alchemist should be using the special brewing mode for all of her crafting.
I will run further tests on all of this to confirm, but for now I am pretty sure everything I wrote here is accurate.

Stoneskin potion casted at CL 7: * Failure - potions can not hold spells higher than level 3 *
Superior Resistance potion casted at CL 11: * Failure - potions can not hold spells higher than level 3 *
Further Edit:
Toxicity DOES work for other characters aside from Master Alchemists. The first elixir has no side-effects. The next ones seem to have random side-effects. Some side-effects allow a fortitude roll, like Blindness. A Fear side-effect did not allow a roll. However, after resting and drinking the same elixirs again, the character did not have any side-effects at all.
Will try again after a server reset, to see if the toxicity side-effects come back.

Is the drawback, that elixirs can cause negative effects after drinking more than 1 per rest, not implemented?Arn wrote: So really, a Master Alchemist should be using the special brewing mode for all of her crafting.

By all accounts, the toxicity effects do not exist.

Did further testing, edited my post above.
Probably the most important thing to note is that minimum CLs apply to both potions and elixirs, and they vary depending on the spell you're trying to brew.

Re: Tell Me All About Crafting Here
Is there a cohesive list on what spells can be made into potions, wands, and elixirs? I really want to see about doing things like cooking up high CL Bless Weapon potions and other juicy paladin goodies. (Actually, would a Bless Weapon potion even work? Since even if you target a player, it targets their weapon.)

It should work, but it is likely capped at CL15, just like GMW, Deez's Repulsive Shadow Barrier and other such spells are.Khazrak wrote:Is there a cohesive list on what spells can be made into potions, wands, and elixirs? Anyone want to volunteer as a test subject? XDchambordini wrote:High level master alchemists are not supposed to be affected by toxicity, other characters they trade potions with are.

Question though, potions don't need UMD to be used right?

Re: Tell Me All About Crafting Here
Updated my post with toxicity test results. Basically, toxicity DOES work, and the side-effects seem random. However, after a rest, side-effects don't happen anymore, whether drinking the same elixirs or different ones. I will make a separate thread later with more details.
I also got the chance to test the minimum CLs of more spells, and I added them to the list.

Has the beetle shell barkskin and spider mandible whatever kind of crafting been removed?
