If I may seem Harsh

Unread post by cosmic ray »

If I may seem harsh, it is because I say what I think to people's faces and not behind their backs, which I'm sure most people can appreciate. I try my best not to insult people personally, but I don't mince words either. If someone is offended because I insulted him or her, I will end up apologizing, but if someone is offended by an opinion I express, then that is one of many possible natural reactions that person may have to my opinion, and there is nothing I can do to change that.

I just wanted to air this, in light of the recent threads some of us have been active in, and not restart any discussion that has been locked.

I'm a lot like this as well - its a good thing to get this straightened out as we can come accross as you say.

I don't get offended by this behavior but in the spirit of this thread I'll refuse to mince words: diplomacy is a useful skill and those who refuse to roll that skill can deal with the result. This is not to be confused for virtue, nor is rolling diplomacy to be confused with being manipulative. Professional behavior is not intended to avoid conflict but instead to adress it in a productive way.

What can I say? I wear my influences on my sleeve: Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins, George Carlin.

Sometimes the truth can be brutal. We just have to deal with it. :)
