One of my sons rolled a natural 1 IRL and unfortunately has to HTFU, a k a undergo a spinal fusion (T4 to T12 hopefully) on the 11th of april.
No high school for a month post operation, which worries him more then the surgery so far.
One of nature's cruel jokes, no scoliosis running in either family tree.
Anyway, thus Ive been working more lately then usual in order to be there for him 24/7 in the first week post surgery, and have a tattoo paid for should he desire one to cover the scar.
I just dont find the time or want to immerse myself in the server atm.
Figure I'll teach him how to make paracord knots and stuff, not like he is going anywhere by then and it'll keep him focused on something other then pain.
Neither of us are broken, just a wee bit bent.
I'll be around given time, have some great rp the lot of you.

sorry to hear about your boy Munin, will say a prayer for him and your family. Modern medicine is a true wonder and I'm sure he'll make a full recovery in time.

Holy Cow Storm! I am really sorry to hear that. Family first, now and always. I have to admit, hearing about your son's priorities in that situations makes him out as epic as his father. Take all the time in the world. We will be here whenever you have the time and feel up to returning. Give your son all our best wishes. You have them too.

Seriously? Try to remind him that health is way more important than -anything else-
Good luck to you and him of course.

Bump or sorry for staying away so long.
First things first:
Second son's surgery and recovery went awesome, he was up on his feet walking the stairs and wanting to go home by the fifth day (16th of april). We had to wait another day for final xray session.
12hrs post operation he leaned out of the bed to puke all over me, honestly I did not mind one damn bit since his back obviously was working ok!
3 weeks of morphine weaning & scar healing later he finally started attending high school again (he aced the national test in maths 4 weeks post surgery).
Still not allowed sports or heavy lifting until the 11th of october though, back muscles needing to set next to the augmented spine and vertebrae to fuse (T4-14 as I recall).
Full mobility above and below the chest, yay.
After that ordeal came some insane work hours for me along with too much overtime on top of the gardening season.
Then there were some other activities before a great hike to Kebnekaise (2.106m) and back from the wilds (midnight sun ftw) with my first son for company.
Anyway, I am moving back into the server and thank you all for the support.
See you inside.
What does not kill you make you stronger.
