Artificer

Unread post by Faceless »

Good afternoon everyone! Hailing from ever so sunny Oregon, I'm newer here but I've been at the game of Neverwinter Nights since day 1! This includes playing DnD and attempting to read everything that exists for Forgotten Realms!

I was wondering what the status of crafting was, and how it currently plays into the server. I've always been an enormous fan of Artificing, crafting, enchanting, etc.

I see it's not released yet, but fingers crossed it will be soon!

I am trying to gauge interest on an Artificer Guild. With a lot of experience creating, organizing, and leading groups of people, I'm hoping to bring something to life that provides something in game and out of game which is intriguing for all, as well as helpful to the economy of the game and it's adventures!

I see Techsmith of Gond exists as a class, but I was wondering if any wanted to take it all the way once it is available to craft using all the skills.

I'm an engineer and crafty person at heart, so this would be something I'm committed to making grand, epic, and fun!

:D feel free to PM me or post here(more conducive to discussion!), if any staff have input please feel free to give it!

I'm willing to do anything to make this happen!

Hello and welcome! Crafting has been a wish on the server for years by some people. I personally don't think it will ever happen. Sometimes the team seems to work on it but it's not really given focus and when that dev leaves the work halts. It requires focus and teamwork to actually get crafting functional. The current dev team can likely comment.

Don't let the crafting spells in-game deceive you. They've been there for years without a purpose.

I'd recommend that you don't expect Artificer to ever be released as that way you're not binding your game fun to something which might never happen or happen in years. Techsmith can certainly be fun to play and you can enjoy that class in an RP sense of engineering things. Just with no mechanical support (and very rarely DM support unless you're willing to wait for weeks on replies on how to build things. It doesn't work like in pnp with DM back-and-forth.)

Juniper played by lum is a Techsmith who has RPed around the Temple of Gond and inventions for several guilds. Shoot the player a PM perhaps if you have questions!
