Please can we look into the possibility of removing the cost of using a Scribed Teleport scroll? Or at the very least, make some cost changes either with the scribing of the scroll, or lowering the component cost of scribed Teleport scrolls.
Scribed scrolls already cost $1350 gp to make. And then using the scroll pings you another $850 to cast.

These scrolls are available for purchase at in game merchants (lower CL, 5 vs 18) for very little coin by comparison. (My mage can get them for less than 200). But.. the casting component cost is stated at 1000gp. Will be buying one to test.

Either way... for a material component cost of 150gp per casting, difference between store bought and scribed scrolls. There's a significant difference between acquisition cost ($1350 vs $200).

I'm guessing that Caster Level difference is in play here that is affecting item cost? CL18 (scribed) vs 5 (store bought).

The explanation around Caster Levels isn't quite specific, but from what I can tell, Caster Level may affect the DC success of casting the Teleport?
If so, I'm just wondering how much of an effect this actually makes for the significantly higher invested cost associated with the scribed scroll.

Under Gameplay Notes you find the DC calculation and your Dice calculation to beat it.

CL 17 instead CL 5 only gives a +1 bonus to your check, ,barley worth it. The cheap buyable teleportation scrolls
just have a material component of 800 coins, ,like the normal teleport spell. Their description regarding material costs is wrong.

Conclusion: better stack to the buyable scrolls or prepare one Teleport spell yourself.

Well... Aye, it makes sense to go for the cheaper scrolls now.
But I also feel a little cheapened in that every dog and their elf can use these scrolls (exaggeration noted) for the price of a song.
And I wonder what the opportunity cost for server RP is with these scrolls so readily available.
Either way, OOCly, i'll be joining in the buying spree.

Raise the prices ! By all means they're way too cheap.

But first limit area transitions to one per reset! You can't expect to just go from BG to Nashkel in 20 min, can you? That cheapens Teleport spell even more!

I agree that scrolls are way too available. As a wizard its nice that i can fill up my book but if the scrolls were more rare, its not like people would lose access to them. We wizards would just have a reason to scribe them and sell them. I think most spells and potions and wands should be unavailable. This would allow wizards and clerics to make more stuff for trade and up the RP bar.

At the very least wizards spell scribing cost should be lowered to make it competitive with the prices on scrolls... Scribing a scroll should cost less than buying it at max appraise, or the NPC wizards that are selling them are selling at a loss...

electric mayhem - the CL does factor into how many people you can Teleport at once.

That'd mean that a Teleport can bring with just one additional person at CL 5. However... I'm not too sure this is implemented correctly?

Me either.

I've been in a party teleport when a scroll has been used. Unsure whether it was scribed or store bought. I'm assuming the latter considering whom the characters were.

But the 'reader' had been able to bring 3-4 of us along (including the reader).

Memory may be distorted, but that's what I can recall.

To be honest,teleportation as a spell in of itself should be without a cost at all. In pnp it doesn't even have material components. Though it has more chances to be off target. Nor should dimensional door. Scribing costs is another matter.
