Monthly 100% RCR

Unread post by Zinnestro »

How about a monthly 100% RCR on the last weekend of even month. Or even a quarterly one? Just want to know what the our wonderful and best staff think about that.

I'd love it. Not a member of the staff, though.

There's a bit of a value call if you RCR the same character. Feats might represent a lifetime of knowledge and not changing them is a question but I've RCRed the same character into different classes as the story and my own mechanical knowledge develops.

100% already happened so just do it once a year like it has been.

I am personally a supporter of the idea of a one week period of 100% RCR each year, though I see how that can quickly develop issues and complications in RP continuity (For instance, if you are RPing a FvS of anything and suddenly you aren't anymore- my understanding of FvS is that this is something you are born with, and doesn't go away). Mind, those things arise regardless, just the fact that players will have to bust ass to regain lost levels is a deterrent.

What's the difference between a completed build and a build that's lacking all its epic goodies?

I think you know the answer to that. :P

One has an Epic journey ahead, the other sits resplendent on his arse.

I'll take the level 20 every time :)

Limited power at Lvl 20 is the same as limited power that comes at Lvl 30!

But yes...many more skulls need to pile up in order to progress from Lvl 20 to Lvl 30. Or, a lot more Friday Fish Fries. :|

I guess Epic Levels have some goodies. But only 1/3 of total potential goodies, in a Build. Kinda sorta. But one has really to waste invest more time into the third leg of a build...is it really THAT worth it?!?

Granted, I have a lvl 26 PC that I could RCR into a new character at lvl 18, under the currently operational options. Would I take a new lvl 26 PC over a lvl 18? Sure. Would I actually achieve anything of merit in that mechanical process? Not really.

Anyway, my thinking is that with 100% RCR, Players more freely abandon Characters, instead of investing in Characters. That affects everybody, on the Server...and not in a good way. I also know that DMs hate that shit, Character abandonment.

And there is nothing more questionable than when a Character switches there "profession," sometimes often.

Now that I say that, it would be a helpful Tool, that RCR NPC, if it only allowed for Feat changes, NOT Class/Prc/Ability changes.
