Alchemy

I've been playing an alchemist in game now for a few weeks and I was curious what an alchemist is capable of creating aside from potions here? For example, alchemical fire and acid bombs, are they something a player can craft, and if so how? This is my first go at anything remotely crafting related in the game and I was wondering if there was some sort of beginners guide or any advice/tips so I can better make use of what's available to an alchemist.

Master Alchemist can create Perfected Alchemist Fire. Any character with adequate skill points in craft alchemy can collect from certain plants about the server to get single use consumables as well. Finally, a Master Alchemist can create potions out of spells up to the 7th circle and can set the Caster Level up to 30. Take note that there are exceptions. Greater Magic Weapon, Deez's Repulsive Shadow Barrier and several other spells are capped at CL15.

Thanks for the info Chad, I was intending on taking Master Alchemist eventually but for the time being I wanted to fiddle around with creating alchemy fire and other such concoctions. As a first time crafter, is there a guide or recipe booklets available in game to help me out?

As for crafting alchemist's fire and other such things, aside from the feat a master alchemist uses (and I think clerics can comparably make holy water and techsmiths can make smoke powder bombs, even if those aren't supposed to be a thing yet in the timeline), I think all there is to say about it is where you can go to click plants to get a save and, if successful, craft the item. A lower quality than those you get feats for with prestige classes.
Not sure if there are any guides for it, but any recipe booklets would likely be player written books from the Book of Many Shelves in the Palace District, or from Candlekeep.
I know NeonAvenger has shared some information of the kind you'd want, and I have the post archived but I'll just ping him in a PM with a link to this thread. Might be it's been updated since.

Once you get started with making potions/elixirs, wands, and spells though...
If you haven't seen this list by Tsidkenu you'll likely find it very useful for spell crafting purposes!
Complete Arcane Spell List. It's compiled from ingame experience, and so can be relied on for which spells can be crafted, assuming it's up to date.
I recently posted this page on the wiki:
Minimum Casterlevels and Craftability. Even though it's rendered from the relevant 2da files I can't make any promises about its accuracy in practice. It also doesn't include maximum casterlevels for those spells that have restrictions there, but the prices for the typical minimums and maximums, and wands are all listed.

Except I don't play an active wizard anymore so I'm wholly relying on the community to tell me what's up-to-date and what's not! I then modify the table accordingly.

That is amazing! Looks like the kind of data I should be updating my forum table above with!

Please do note the perfected alchemist's fire crafted via the Master Alchemist feat is still weaksauce compared to the alchemist's fire you'll find in loot. Unless there's some trick I don't know about.

The flavor text on the ones made by Master Alchemists is still the OC NWN2 but the effect is the BGtSCC version. Unless one of the updates broke it.

Gibberling hearts now have like 10 different uses including alchemy, crafting, and survival.
Healing moss can be made into healing kits.
Divine casters have a spell that makes holy water.
Nature casters have a spell that makes tanglefoot bags.
You can skin animals and turn them into healing food.
Beetle shells and various other things can be placed into a crafting bench and have any spell cast on them to make gold/potions.

Could anyone explain how this works exactly? :3

Right click on the heart, use it on itself, go through dialogue.
Place them one at a time into the alter near where you find them for XP. Purify them first if you are good aligned though.

I assume you already know where to get and how to use the gibberling heart and are just confused by the "10 options" thing.
The way the conversation screen with the gibberling heart works it can only show about 5 options, if you want to use the others you really need to be using the client extender and check the console window the other options will appear there, count down the list to work out what number the option you want is and then press the appropriate key on the keyboard.

It works in game for me as of today. It was probably a recent fix.
