What do you think?
On one hand, max damage on such a build would be great.
On the other hand, you want more opportunities to crit with F/FB/WM, and Northlander Hewing limits that. Also, when you DO crit, the damage without Northlander Hewing is already pretty high.
Thoughts?

Is it two handed weapon?
Using IPA for FB? Probably better off just using IPA instead of NLH then. Bonus 20dmg is awesome on full attacks per round. Rather than less attacks.
*shrugs* But each to their own, i've seen posts argumenting for both cases.

I'd be curious to see the arguments. I'll search the forums, thanks!

Wait, from your post, I assume IPA and Northlander Hewing can't be used together?

Re: Northlander Hewing on a F/FB/WM?
Using Improved Power Attack and Northlander Hewing at the same time is usually a bad idea. You got -8 to AB, your number of attacks is reduced, and Northlander Hewing does not increase your critical hit damage. Thus you will end up making less damage over all.
But as for having it on that 'F/FB/WM' build, sure, why not. It allows your character to make use of 'sword-and-board' for extra the AC, while still dealing considerable damage per hit with those one handed attacks. It is a handy feat to have against those high DR, high AB, high AC, opponents with critical hit immunity on top.
But usually I would say that you can just pick one or the other.

As Sun Wukong alluded to, using both EPA and NH is typically a bad idea, and will harm your overall damage. Generally, EPA with FB is stronger than NH.
I did some testing of these combinations, which you can read about here: viewtopic.php?t=63421

Does NH work correct with a whirlwind attack (all hits max. dam) ?

I haven't tried. It is a good question... Part of me suspects no though.
