Dispel Magic on Entering Friendly Arm Inn (crossing bridge)

Hello
How about this: when the Helmet check is done at the drawbridge, instead, there is an NPC dialogue that asks/prompts your Toon, in-character, that they enter the FAI and thus, must dispel their magics.

That would fall in-line with:
At the Friendly Arm Inn, peace was secured by the guards, who insisted that all weapons be left at the gate and that all wizards and clerics tie one thumb to their belts, a practice that spilled over to fighting monks as well.
And, most importantly, it would hopefully end the running around the FAI courtyard keyed up like a Christmas Tree with a Planar with WEAPON OUT, in tow.

Please!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please?

I'd be perfectly happy with then having a default removal for that 10%.

If all it would take is boring ass typing work to make a spell list, I'd volunteer to do that.

This requires iterating through the player's active spell effects and only dispelling effects with specific IDs (instead of all effects.) We can help the devs to make this change by listing all such spells so that they can get a small list of IDs.

No vfx or obv effects
Energy Immunity
Endure Elements
False Life
Cat's Grace
Bull's Strength
Bear's Endurance
Eagle's Splendor
Fox's Cunning
Owl's Wisdom
Comprehend Languages
Tongues
Water Breathing
Non Detection

My main concern is over:

Summon Creature line
Planar Ally line
Mirror Images
Enlarge Person
Spiderskin
Barkskin
Camouflage
Haste
Tortoise Shell
Stoneskin
Stone Body

etc.

The suggestion is limited to the FAI when it's a wider issue so how about merchants refusing to talk to people with shiny buffs or a towering summon in tow ?

Clearly not perfect ... but it might do the job well enough ?

You are on the right track, Val. Some direct NPC disregard for PCs being armed for war, seems appropriate (or, their Planars! :shock: ).

That... I like.

May help deter my overwhelming urge to ignore PvP rules and obliterate the PC and it's follower when I see them in the courtyard... and completely ignore IC and OOC communication to them in regards to the 'issue'.
SOME. Are nice and will dismiss summons if prompted via PM.

Problem is... it seems some players are treating this place like an MMO... and not reading signs... rules etc.

Enlarge person is a bit of a questionable one to remove. I've seen hins/gnomes use it to pretend to be elves/humans and vice versa.

Can you script it so the guards won't let anyone in if buffed? Anyone seen casting inside the gate get's feathered with arrows of slaying DC:99 and sent to the fugue? Also make the same thing happen if they are near the walls outside the FAI...just for funzies!

Can we put one of those guards who checks for weapons in too like the guy at the bridge? If they don't put it away, they get tossed out with a fine and 1 day ban?

Since your weapon is unequipped on entrance I'm not sure about its usefulness.

I second this notion. I had suggested a similar implementation on zone transitions altogether, but it was a bit much and not favorable for plenty of good reasons. Targeting casters altogether is just a bad idea.

If we could do at the very least, something like this (saw an ORC inside FAI with circle against alignment yesterday talking with Mudd), my suggestions for spell component limitations and many other 'zone transition' ideas would greatly subside.

This was really one of my main goals with all that stuff. I'm happy to see it's receiving the support it is.
