Help with a support build

I would like to play a high AC, support build. No spellcasting and preferably human. Any ideas?

High AC is either Dwarven Defender, Breach Gnome, Monk or Man-at-Arms. Monk is perhaps the easiest of these as you get Heal as a class skill + max wisdom, meaning you'll always be useful in a party. Monk RP doesn't have to be like Eastern Martial arts. It's very easy to RP a simple Ilmateri mendicant healer. Your only essential feat is Intuitive Strike (use Wisdom mod for attack instead of Strength) and the rest you can make up as you like.

I take that with 'No Spellcasting' you mean no spell books of any kind, or overly supernatural class abilities, or even the use of UMD.

Thus your support is limited to heal skill as a class skill, which tends to be a class skill for spellcasting classes. But both Paladin and Ranger today have non-spellcasting kits. Crusader and Hunter respectively, of which Hunter is the less 'magical' option.

Then PRCs such as Anointed Knight/Warrior of Darkness, and Fist of the Forest have heal as a class skill.

So... What kind of character archetype fancies you most?

Man at Arms 26/Blackguard4 is pretty darn tankalisious. If you aren't looking to be evil could go M@A 27/C3 or M@A 25/P5. Divine Shield/EDM is pretty synergistic with M@A CHA abilities.

M@A23/DD7 also works well... As does F12/DD7/WM7/R4, evasion, can handle locks and traps, ok damage which is actually good against non-crit immune enemies and good defense.

Even though i dont want to play monk nor paladin, the heal skill suggestion is something that would fit my character.

Limited use of umd would be fine by me. A ranger build could fit nicely, but i dont want to play a paladin.

I like chad878262's suggestion about MaA. I am not a big fan of DM though. Would the same build work with High strength and no DM? Looking at the saves it looks odd that the Fortitude saves are low. How can one compensate for that?

On this server Ranger has a great spell book that can be mostly used to buff up the animal companion (the badger is the worst companion to pick on a ranger), to unload Reserve/Arrow/Spells against your enemies, and to free few item slots with a handful of self buffs.

Ranger 30 is a solid build, no matter if you go for a Strength, Dexterity, or Wisdom based build. Each have their perks and flaws.

But if you use the Hunter kit on ranger, you get no spell casting, in which case something like: Ranger 11 (With Hunter Kit)/Assassin 9/Divine Champion 10 might be what you are looking for. http://nwn2db.com/build/?285900

M@A26/AK4 would work, or fighter 4 if no xp penalty

MaA 20/Divine champion 10 http://nwn2db.com/build/?285904

It's very solid and you'll eventually have lots to play with : MaA abilities (shield other ability to tank properly), knockdown, CE/ICE/PA modes, combat focus feats (gaining some healing and concealment) and divine wrath from divine champion.

Support build with no spellcasting? What do you mean by support build...? Usually that means some kind of buffer (bard, cleric...).

I think I would get Northlander Hewing instead of Power Attack.

Support might not have been the correct word. The idea for this character is to be plaed like a tank. In the thick of the battle, being able to trade hits while others do the damage.

Sounds like it would be an MaA style build with perhaps shield bash and other non-magic utility. Knockdown, maybe. Taunt? Feint?
