Does it work under polymorph effects? Things such as bear warrior, shapechange, polymorph.

So still no word if this is coming or not?

I would have hoped someone could either shed light on the issue, in direct terms of yes or no, that will/will not happen.

I guess no on Staff really cares, or has an opinion!!?? Besides BMD, who cannot himself approve or disapprove.

I don't think it's a good idea, shapechangers can have big STR scores and a damage boost isn't needed.

Valefort, do we know if this was brought up in QC? I believe it use to work waaaay back. Regardless of the STR scores, you can still hit the same numbers with barbarian rage pretty easily, why not open it up to shapechange if you invest the feat? It still requires str of 13, which most druids won't do anyways. The real benefit will be hybrid classes with rangers and bear warriors, which again the STR scores are obtainable with rage.

I have nothing against Northlander Hewing Bear Warriors. After all, going Bear Warrior is kind of inferior compared to a Barbarian 20/'Something Else' 10 build with Epic Rage. Bear Warrior maxes out sooner, so early levels are faster, but in the long run you are far more limited in the number of rages you have.

Barbarian 8/Fighter 12/Bear Warrior 10 can have 5 rages per day. With Extend Rage V, a rage should last at least for 34 rounds per use. About 3 minutes and 24 seconds. A total of 17 minutes... Which leans heavily towards mob gathering to get most out of your rage.



While I would be against proper Shapechangers getting Northlander Hewing. All those defensive spells, ability to shift back and forth, Augment Form... Casters do not need Northlander Hewing.

Why not compromise, set the STR requirement to 17? That will push out druids quick.
