The bracer named Skin Crawler turns off my Tanarukk's War Drummer chants. The error "you do not have enough ranks in Perform to use this ability" pops up as soon as I equip the bracer. I'm assuming that the -2 CHA feature of this bracer knocks my Perform below 5, which was a prerequisite to begin the class. Is this check necessary since I have 5 levels of War Drummer?

The War Drummer chant works off of Perform and Intimidate. Shouldn't my 20 ranks of Intimidate keep the chant working?

I feel like a lawyer but there's a difference between activation and effects.

Lawyers use disclaimers and fancy words. This requirement is not stated?

How many other classes can have their class defining abilities stopped due to a potential debuff?

So if you are below 5 perform now, these bracers seem like they are not fitting your build.

I had my 'inspire courage' from a bard 3 dip often disabled from skill/stat draining debuff. Investing a few more points helps usually.

Swashbuckler (insightful strike doesn't work when encumbered), bards (perform, silence), wizards (spell failure), spellcasters in general (casting ability debuffed).

My point was that 5 ranks of Perform is required to take the first level of the War Drummer class. Why should it matter if a debuff takes me below 5 ranks of Perform when I've already met the class prerequisites?

Probably it was just an oversight, that the Battle Rhythm feat description is missing the perform 5 requirement.
However that is for the staff to decide.
