I didn't realize this could happen, and now that I've experienced it on a Bard character, I was a tad bit shocked. Of course, what actually happens is the Inspiration bonus stops applying, but the Inspiration still acts as if active (it is still flashing).

So, one your PC is released from the Stun, you have to click off/ click on the Inspiration, to reapply.

Now, it actually makes a bit of sense, that if a Bard is stunned, they can no longer "sing." But this could also be a "bug," at least in that the Inspiration is not cancelled, just stops applying.

Either way, its a pretty interesting fact to learn, that Stunning a Bard can really do wonders....

joyful noise works as intended, but the chances of you being silenced really dont justify wasting a slot on it depending on how many levels of bard you are taking

target silence never works so it has to be ground aoe to bypass the will save, but the effect is the same

and no i wouldnt count it as a bug either, an annoying feature but not a bug

I think it only lasts 10 rounds anyhow, 20 if extened. Thus... It really only has a use in PvP, and you will most likely be pitted against quickened Silence spells, so you won't even get it off at the start of the PvP.

Heh, I once had Bard 4/Wizard 6/Storm Singer 10/Frost Mage 10, or was it Bard 4/Wizard 6/Arcane Scholar 10/Frost Mage 10, just for that reason with Automatic Quicken Spell III. Yeah, I think it was Arcane Scholar for Empowered Polar Ray spam... along with lesser Orbs of Cold.

no silence is permanent to a bard with what he is referring to, it stops you from actively using anything while you are in the field but it also breaks whatever you currently have up and you have to leave the field and then reapply the inspiration

if you simply leave it remains broken

I meant the Joyful Noise spell. Duration of 60 to 120 seconds. That's the 10 or 20 rounds if extended.

The inspiration works because your bard is singing all the time, non stop. Or playing.

Stunned bard, obviously, has trouble singing.

For the same reason deafened listeners aren't affected by inspirations. That includes the bard himself as well.

It's a balance issue or immersion related decision.

Unfortunately, it also affects Bodyguard and Blackguard, who must rest to get their aura back. Nearly all of the Blackguard characters are casters with BG dips, and are immune to stun due to spells.

BG aura can be toggled on and off, so you just have to cycle it
