So I'm pretty tilted. The Wiki said 21 bard, 24 perform. So I assumed, being the moron I am, that it meant 21 bard Caster levels. So I took 10 levels of Stormsinger with my build.

So it got me to thinking: Why not just make Song of Requiem require 21 Bard Caster levels? Kind of like they changed the Warlock's Eldritch Mastery?

Cause I'm pretty mad, not going to lie, that i put all this effort into levelling up this character only not to be able to take Song of Requiem. Doing AoE's is the character's literal entire schtick. He armors up, drops in a Storm of Vengeance, then gets into face while AoEs are going off around him. So I built the character around eventually getting Requiem.

Can this be changed please? Cause to me it just makes sense. As long as i have 21 bard caster levels I feel like it stands within reason I should be able to take this. Especially since as a Stormsinger it just makes sense to call down a cacophony of sound.

I am guessing because of powah! No seriously. A STR bard naked can rekt the server so there is that.

It’s neither bard levels nor bard CL. It’s 20 songs.

Are you sure? Cause let me explain why.

I"m level 23 right now. Literally just levelled. I have 9 levels in bard, 10 levels in Stormsinger, and 3 levels in blackguard. My latest level was a level in Bard.

(( OOC: Desmodu is a Blackguard devoted to Beshaba. SHHHH!!!

So when I hit 23 I would have my 20 bard songs the moment I levelled. Is that not enough?

It is Bard 21/Perform 24, as per the in-game feat description. My bard didn't qualify for this until I hit level 27, which was my 21st bard level.

If that's the case I need to RCR. I will never have 21 bard levels. The most I will have is 17.

Going to have to go with mrm3ntalist on this one. Songs per day progression doesn't seem quite right for all prestige classes, but you can take it on 20 songs. If you aren't getting 20 songs until the level you're trying to take Requiem on, you probably don't have them as a qualifier during feat selection.

How is that possible to have song of requiem with only 17 bard level. The description for Dissonant chord explicitly says that the levels gained in the class does not stack with bard levels in determining which songs a bard has access to...

There's nothing wrong in what you wrote. For exemple a bard 17 dissonant chord 3 will get 20 bard songs but will not get legionnaire's march because one gets it at bard 18, différence between number of songs per day and song feats.
