Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

One of my items, Cloak of Predatory Viper, keeps being automatically unequipped every time I login. It is also removed from any hotbar I put it on.

This has never happened with any other item before.

I did change the appearance of the cloak with Maltz, and I don't recall it happening before I changed the appearance.

It's probably because you need UMD to use it, and you're likely getting a +2 UMD bonus from spellcraft synergy which only applies after you log in. Your options are to wear a +CHA/UMD item permanently to boost your UMD at login, or just deal with it each login like I do as well

Aha, that makes sense - I'll probably just put another point or two in UMD to avoid it.
