Invisible Blade Class

Unread post by Drow4d20 »

Does a ranger's two-weapon style apply to Invisible Blade's requirement of two-weapon fighting?

Does a light crossbow qualify for the Invisible blade's light weapon requirement to inflict a bleeding wound? I'm guessing since they are called "invisible blades" it only applies to melee weapons, but it would be cool if small ranged or thrown weapons were included.

I am considering a ranger/rogue/invisible blade build with dual-wield kukris and a light crossbow if this would work. Would also consider adding shadowdancer, divine seeker, or harper scout depending. I am new with nwn2 building and don't really remember the D&D books

First question, probably yes - it works at least fine for other PrCs, for instance my ranger's ranged weapon style feats work fine for the Order of the bow class.

2nd: No, it only works with light melee weapons.

There's a module linked here somewhere that lets you try out builds, if I find it I'll update this post.

Rogue 10 (For Crippling Strike, which opens up Epic Precision)
Invisible Blade 5 (For reasons, I suppose, it does let you have +intelligence AC)
Assassin 9 (For that lovely death attack and HiPS)
Ranger 6 (For free Improved Two-Weapon Fighting, and track feat)

I guess that would be the levels I would take. You can take Greater and Perfect Two-Weapon Fighting with regular feats. I would not really invest in bluff equipment - I would just make a regular sneak.

I dropped bluff from build entirely. Originally I was trying to take cleric levels for rp, but instead went with fighter and just got blind fight. My toon is blind.

I wanted the crossbow too badly so i had to give up melee.

Assassins are evil only (right?) So i took 3 SD instead.

I am exploring all the new classes, combinations, and What will work with what. Sorry for so many posts, but I post with a title based on what I'd searched the forum for previously in hopes that others may have these specific questions answered. Thanks guys

No alignment restrictions on assassin. In pnp there's an avenger class that's exactly like assassin, but not evil so on this server we just removed the restriction.

feint is a great feat with IB if you can fit it in, which of course requires bluff also

if not you are looking at hips spam even vs easy targets

I'm quite happy with feint spamming vs HiPS spamming and prefer it to the latter on my character who has both. It's yet another feat you should maybe not max but keep very high to be effective, but at a certain point and with Feint Mastery it's incredibly fun and faster than HiPS.

not to mention hips only grants sneaks to your first flurry of attacks and feint grants it for the rest of the round

so my hin rogue/SD/IB has 10 attacks and only 4 in her first flurry

depending what it is i may land about 8 attacks so with just hips its

SA SA SA SA reg reg reg reg miss miss

but with feint its

SA SA SA SA feint SA SA SA miss miss (next round) feint SA SA SA SA SA SA SA miss miss

because shes 10 SD she has no damage outside of sneaks, so feint and feint mastery really help in her particular case
