toggle hostile group button

simple... a button that target hostile the group instead of just the individuals.

cant see a reason why not unless its a technical issue.

Why not just hostile everyone when you log in via the player list.

Why I would wish this was possible, it would mean that Companions and Summons would auto attack everyone. Right?

while that makes sense for me, it might not for most others on the server. and so many come and go without interacting that it would be a waste of time.

It would be cool if an Area (Colossal) could be enacted.

Summons can and should be controlled by the owner. They are not the responsibility of anyone else. If you are set hostile, you should reign in the summons. Set them to defend.

I'd prefer everyone start as hostile and require a toggle to friendly, not the other way around. Would make more sense that way.

But yes, back on topic. A set party hostile would be nice. A set area (map) hostile would be useful. A set target area (colossal) would be good. Any if that would be an improvement I think.

Not in a server where death isn't final. You'd just fight everybody, because you've got nothing to lose.

But I could see the use of a button like this ... somewhat. Though setting a group of people hostile isn't that much of an effort now anyway, in my opinion. It's a solution to something that I find not really a problem :-P

Being able to hostile as an area effect would help with some issues folks have had with HiPS characters.

yes i am specifically regarding the hips or hiding characters that would be on both sides of a large group doing battle.

and it would help in that a single button be used to toggle the whole other group and then the other side do the same.

in a 6v6 battle. it can get hard to know what is going on.. or a 3v6v4 situation where one group may not be on the side others think they are on.. or may just want to toggle both groups at different times..

individuals can still have an override to change toggle perhaps. or last toggle overrides older.


PS.. a 6 second CD on the toggle would be good too.. just adding that.

it is way simpler method.. like now is 1 and the proposed method is 9 in comparison to ease of use.

It should be doable, the button exists and has existed on other servers.

I like the idea of having a no-mans land map where anything goes and its strictly come at your own risk. Brings back memories of when i played on Runescape long long ago... and no the north does not count even if its close lol. Don't even go there... :)

I was under the impression that if you toggled a character in a group to hostile, that it set their entire group to hostile as well. Or at least I remember this being the case from a few PvP instances from some years ago(like 4 or 5).

If not, maybe a button that can set everyone in the current map to hostile would work.

Erm, are you all sure about this ? There are many situations where some people in the group don't actually want to take part in a PvP, I see more problems than solutions with such a button.

Yeah, I can think of several exploits off the top of my head with this which would be disguised beneath the mechanics of it when a player is brought in for review. I'm unfortunately going to say no to this. Looks good on paper but there's devils in the details.
