I have a Drow 13th lvl Ranger + 2nd lvl Cavestalker

1. The main issue is the Combat Log is being very inconsistent in telling me that the Cavestalker abilities are being enabled or disabled.
Earlier i moved between the hive area and the mines and it was enabling and disabling on the combat log - and i can see that my tumble skill is going up and down on my character sheet
Now im not seeing it change when i move between those areas or between other areas such as Sshamath city and Varallas Passage.
If the cavestalker abilities are not enabled when i move out into Varallas passage i have to log out then back in to enable. Same in other areas.
At the moment only logging out and back in of the respective areas causes enabling and disabling


2. The secondary issue but maybe not exactly a bug was that Camouflage wasnt working but after looking on the forum i found a post saying that Camouflage doesnt work for Cavestalkers but a speed boost has been given. This is the 'Swift and Silent' feat that i have seen enabled on the combat log? Should the Cavestalker info be updated on the wiki to reflect this?

I will look into what might be causing this No1. No2, is correct, there was no way to make camouflage work so that speed boost feat was used instead. Yes, the wiki should be updated

I always thought that mines were maybe not considered wilderness, because they are sort of... industrial? As for the Sshamath/Passage transition, for me this works, but it takes a few seconds in the passage until I get the message.
As for #2, I believe that the issue is that an area must be marked as wilderness or outdoors in the area properties, which might not work for tilesets?

Regarding that "Swift and Silent" feat, is it actually available as a general feat? And does it work?

There has just been a reset, ive logged the toon in and gone to Glouras - no Combat Log message about Cavestalker being enabled yet and my Tumble is 16 so without the Advanced Spelunker bonus

Ahhh... ive gone thro Sshamath and then thro the portal to Varallas Passage and now i get a Combat Log telling me Cavestalker is enabled and my Tumble is now 19
(earlier as i said above i was moving backwards and forwards and not getting any combat log updates)
Doing a rough speed test i am moving faster at sneak than at normal walk so the 75% seems accurate - so Swift and Silent works - (shame its not the 100% tho!)

ALSO - i go back into Sshamath and i get the notification that Cavestalker is disabled - my tumble is back down to 16 and it looks like the Swift and Silent is also off

SO - straight after a reset it seems to be working - so at some point earlier something mucked it up.

Its 2am here so i wont do too much testing tonight. Tomorrow will try to replicate what i did and see what happens....

EDIT: maybe after taking the second Cavestalker level i needed a reset to make it work properly?

Only "wilderness" areas in the UD/UpD activate the Cavestalker bonuses.

It's simply the vanilla nwn2 entry, on the server cavestalker gain it as a part of their class progression.

Thanks Val, I didn't realize this feat was actually included in the base game and also listed on the NWN2wiki: http://nwn2.wikia.com/wiki/Swift_and_Silent

Seems that's where that "Notes" section came from.

I think - after taking Cavestalker 2nd lvl relogging is not enough, you need a server reset for it to work properly...

perhaps this also needs to happen on successive levels - shall see....

I created a ranger/assassin/cavestalker drow type a little while ago, and it utterly broke to where it no longer recognized her as an Underdark native, so she could not gain XP or loot chests in the Underdark.

Since then I deleted the character and used the RCR to make a replacement build for her, so I can't tell you exactly what she had and feats and skills she took. It may not have even been directly because of the Cavestalker levels...however I did often find the turning on and off of Cavestalker ability to be wildly inconsistent and problematic as well.

Did you at any point have the DMFI tool removed?
