Research subjects (Necromancer in Sshamath)
To make it short, can anyone confirm that this quest actually works? I can't count the Dead Jaluks I "collected" anymore, it must be more like 500 than 5, but it seems the lady is never satisfied.

I am under the impression the quest was changed, so that you have to collect them all at once, and then bring them back to her. It surely doesn't work the way it did before, but that seems intentional since, for instance, the corpses' weight has been removed (and they were heavy...).casadechrisso wrote:To make it short, can anyone confirm that this quest actually works? This twisted culture got you feeding from its hand
But you will lose that food if you don't meet all their demands
And loyal is the soldier that gets slaughtered with the lambs
Examining the blueprints got you questioning the plans

Re: Research subjects (Necromancer in Sshamath)
The quest is still bugged. All the corpses must be collected in one session, otherwise their count drops to 0 (after reset/crash, for example, probably even after relog). The easiest way to collect them is to go to the Mushroom grove (1 corpse on the way, 2 inside), then to West of Varalla's (top part of the map), then to NW of Rivers or Goblin Lake. Also, some corpses are bugged and spawn undroppable items (like that at Nau'klar), but those are exceptions and are located in the god forgotten depths of the UD.

Re: Research subjects (Necromancer in Sshamath)
Okay, first, doing it in one session works fine. Thank you!
But adding to that, there still seem to be buggy corpses around, I ended up yet again with an undroppable body in my inventory that had to be removed by a DM - "Research Subject (PQ38)", 15.5 lbs.
I wish I could say for sure which body it was, it can't be far from Varalla's Passage. My bet is the one on the far end of West of Varalla's, but I'm not sure.
Locations of bodies I think I picked up (from memory, so a grain of salt has to be added): Varalla's Passage, West of Varalla's, Goblin Lake, South of Varalla's, Mushroom Grove.
Maybe someone else who has this quest currently open could test out which one it is?
From the last time this happened I also suspect a body in the dungeons of Nau'klar.

casadechrisso, I believe I know why this has occurred. That body in the goblin lake you speak of probably is utilizing the old code again. I'm going to look at it.

Re: Research subjects (Necromancer in Sshamath)
Add the one at Nau'klar to that list. Also, it seems like picking up one of those corpses messes up the count for the quest, I tried to finish the quest today in one session and gave up after the 8th corpse that still didn't update the journal (the goblin caves one with the item was the first I picked up).Moridin wrote:casadechrisso, I believe I know why this has occurred. I looked at the one in the Underdark Goblin Lake area and it was using a different script from the rest. Not sure about the Nau'klar however.

Why was it changed from allowing 1 corpse at a time to be left with the necromancer...? I don't recall oddities with that but I might be wrong.

The Nau'klar corpse had an identical issue.
Also Glowfire, the old quest was extremely broken. I know, I broke it myself and had to have a DM fix it for me something like 12 times.
If you find anymore, keep posting.

I'm clearly oblivious! Thank you however, Moridin, for looking into it!
The Nau'klar one as I recall is behind the totally-not-secret-door in one of the 'cell' areas there in case you're not sure of location (although my directions aren't crystal clear here).

I'm terribly sorry to report that the corpse in the Goblin Lakes area still handed me the research subject.

Odd. I'm sure I pointed it to the right script. I'll take a look tomorrow. Is the Nau'klar also still broken?
