100% RCR - Wizards

Hello,
Since there will be a free RCR period, I wanted to ask if it would be somehow possible to give some extra supports to Wizard characters who want to RCR. For example my character knows 245 spells, with some 70 spells learned through leveling up possible with 30 Wizard progression, getting my spellbook back will cost a fortune...somewhere between 100-200k. While the free rcr is great, it really feels like punishing wizards who would like to take it even just for the faces.

Thanks

I brought this up in qc, but it didn't garner any support.

That's really too bad, it's hard to call it "Free" RCR when Wizards and only them need to pay ton of gold just to get stuff they already had...for example I have nowhere near enough gold ATM I will need to do it even and it's not like I can build it up again slowly because most of the spells are not even avaliable in shops so I can't scribe beforehand what I'll need...

I've RCR'd my wizards quite a few times through the years. Through the combination of four different spells the class is practically at the top of the PvE spectrum, and over time I try to purchase and collect on scrolls prior to performing another RCR, bringing the costs down considerably. I don't aim to fill a spellbook as there are many spells that in the epics become irrelevant or easily replaced by a higher spell level option, because of these, a builder mod to accompany, and more importantly no other class benefits from feat / skill re attribution where this is optioning benefits from spell reattribution, I couldn't justify such a perk.

In the best case scenario, the missing custom scrolls being available to purchase from NPCs would help.

I currently main a Wizard, and have never had a large amount of wealth. This will Basicly dropped me back to zero gold wise.

However I am not upset by this AT ALL. Most other players are willing to help, and even better you have been given hours of free RP trying to collect your spells back. Just make an excuse such as your book was destroyed or lost.

Having RCRed a wizard twice (costing about 100-120k each time) I know the pain. You can use my Spell List to see where you can buy scrolls from cheaply and then figure out which of the remaining spells you want to take as level-up picks, and which you'll need to scribe now in advance of RCR time.

Please note my spell list is currently out of date with the new spell additions but I've not received any information of the new spells added to be able to update the listing.

Good luck out there folks!

I'm probably rebuilding Wendi, but I don't see this as a punishment for wizards at all. I'd rather have the opportunity to RCR and pay boatloads of gold than not be able to RCR at all.

And as AoS said, there really is no need to try to max out your spellbook. I have never used most of the spells in my book, and I have played a few wizards over the years.

I am more concerned about re-binding planar creatures than I am the spellbook, but combining the two of them? Ooof!

It looks like I'm am gonna have to break it off with my pals.... It's not you, it's me.

A DM should run an event where a gnome ruins a bunch of spell books.

Goodbye my frands. :violin:

Edit: Although let's be honest, how often do we use bound creatures? All of mine are below level 20.

While yes I don't use most of the spells on daily basis...the reasons I'd like my spellbook be as full as possible are: that Niy is supposed to become a teacher so she should be able to show/use lot of spells, it seems kinda weird she would just "forget" or not try to retrieve spells she learned over the years and during her studies and finally...you never know when and where it might suddenly be useful. Yes those are all mostly RP reasons...and as for creating RP, over and over I have bumped into the issue that most mages don't bother learning spells for "waht if"/RP reasons, so finding some of them could prove nearly impossible.

Just to make certain, you know that you can learn spells not only from scrolls, but potions and items as well?

Combine a level up where the majority of high level spells are learned through level ups, then the potions, items and scrolls that one might have saved up and one can find, makes the costs mentioned above greatly exaggerated
