Lost items after recent server crash (not horse related)

Okay, I guess I will post this here. Not sure if it will help or not, but I will try. I recently RCRed one of my characters, after leveling him back up I then proceeded to transfer items I specifically purchased for this new character build, via another character and a campfire. Now, that was all fine and dandy. The new character received all the gear without problem and I was happy, I can now start changing the appearance of these items to better match this new build. Here is where the problem occurs, as i had the item appearance changer thing open, the server crashed or restarted unannounced. I returned as soon as the server came back and was horrified that all the gear I spent so much coin on (which required lots of time grinding and looting) disappeared. All equipped and unequipped items in his inventory were gone 
The newly RCRed character seemed to be reset with the default rogue leathers and 1000 coins. I then thought maybe all the gear went back to my other character I transferred it from, but nope he didn't have it either. So, where did all of my stuff disappear to? Is there I way to rollback my character to before the server crash?
