special metal armor bug

hi, for the second time i find this bug DM can't fix. on one character i have a adamatine full plate without the damage reduction give by adamantine and on another character i have a mithral chain shirt without any benefite it's a standard chain shirt, so dou you know how anyone can fix my item or i'm stuck with my item without any metal bonus
