Summon Baatezu and Feats that work

Unread post by Darkwind »

Question regarding the hellfire warlock ability. Do any of the various summoning feats work with their Summon Baatezu ability?

And if so can you briefly say which ones? I assume Conjuration Focus or GCF aren't going to do anything so Augment Summoning is the only one that would have an effect, correct?

Also if you spec into Thaumaturge do those abilities work as well?

It also seems like the description isn't accurate anymore. It says the summon lasts for levels of Hellfire Warlock +1d8 + Cha Bonus. Unless the levels are ALL warlock levels? The one I called for testing lasted much longer than 3 rounds + d8 + Cha bonus so I'm guessing it either counts all Warlock levels or has been changed.

EDIT: One add'l 'Lock question off-topic. Death Ward auto cancels the Hellfire effects? Is this true? Because that kinda sucks given that Death Ward is a must have in many epic areas. Is there a way around this or are you simply vulnerable to save or die effects if you doing a ConLock or something similar?

I'm not sure about the spell focuses and agumented summons and if they work or not, but I can share what Info I have about the ability from my warlocks:

The summons are 20hd ones, meaning that on paper, they'd be stronger than planar binding ones with spell focuses. Meaning that if you have a friend that can buff them up, they're not too bad. Two of them have knockdown and immense strength mod of +15!
The summon also lasts until it dies. There is no timer attatched to it, it just stays until rest or death.

That being said... it's a RNG roll on what you get. Odds so far seem to be about 50-50. Half the time you get something entirely useless like that eerines or Neeska, but the others seem quite useful.

Is that alone worth taking the hellfire kit? Not particularly as you can't buff them yourself. But they are a nice addition if you'd already pick up Hellfire.
